One of the strongest and arguably coolest-looking armor collections in God of War: Ragnarok is the Dragon Scaled Armor, attire made from the flesh of slain Dragons. This armor set is well-balanced in its increases to Strength and Defence. Furthermore, the Breastplate enables Blocks and Parries to grant Kratos a buff that further bolsters Strength and Defence with each stack. This buff resets upon taking damage. Accordingly, the Dragon Scaled Armor offers excellent stats for casual players. Moreover, those skilled enough to execute perfect Blocks and Parries in combat are rewarded with a high-scaling buff to unleash massive damage on foes.
To get the Dragon Scaled Armor, players must unlock The Crater, a location in God of War: Ragnarok that serves as a home to vicious Dragons, Drekis, and Drakes. These flying serpents possess the materials required to craft the armor set. In other words, players automatically gain access to the Dragon Scaled Armor's blueprint at the workshop once they get their hands on the parts of wyverns. Hunting down Dragons and Drekis can be a challenge, but players should be able to passively farm out all the necessary materials by completing Favours within The Crater.
Unlocking The Crater in God of War: Ragnarok
To unlock The Crater for getting the Dragon Scaled Armor in God of War: Ragnarok, players must first complete the requisite quest, "Creatures of Prophecy." This mission involves helping Freya rescue her brother from the Einherjar. Once completed, participants will find themselves near the central campfire in Freyr's Camp of Vanaheim in God of War: Ragnarok. According to YouTuber WoW Quests, players must head to the right side of the grotto to find Helka barking. Atreus will comment that Helka smells something; players must follow her and Atreus to initiate the quest "Scent of Survival," the quest that unlocks The Crater.
During the "Scent of Survival," Kratos must follow Helka for several minutes down a few forest trails. Eventually, players will reach a bridge that is inaccessible unless the time of day is changed. After finally finding the hound, Kratos and Atreus will begin riding on their flying boat before being struck down by a Dragon. After the descent, players will find themselves in The Crater, where all manner of Dragons, Drekis, and Drakes can be found. These creatures are not easy to hunt; fans need their best Runic Attacks in God of War: Ragnarok to take down the beasts. Once several have been defeated and enough materials have been gathered, players can visit the brothers' workshop to craft their new Dragon Scaled Armor.
