Dragon Quest Builders 2 received a new trailer that was shown during Square Enix's E3 2019 press conference, which outlined the story of the game and revealed new information concerning pre-order DLC and an upcoming demo that will be available soon.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 combines the building aspects of Minecraft with the fantasy setting of the Dragon Quest series, which means that the game has the potential for creativity of the former and the adventurous spirit of the latter. The Dragon Quest Builders series gives the player a good reason to build settlements, take on quests, and go exploring, as there is an entire world full of monsters that take pleasure in attacking their homemade cities and grinding them into the dust.

A trailer for Dragon Quest Builders 2 was shown during Square Enix's E3 2019 event, which discusses the story and new features in the game. The player takes on the role of a mythical builder, which is a person with the ability to reshape the world with their unparalleled building abilities. A cult known as the Children of Hargon (named after one of the villains of Dragon Quest II) is trying to wipe out all of the remaining builders, forcing the protagonist to flee to the Isle of Awakening. It's there that they encounter a mysterious warrior named Malroth, which just happens to be the name of the villain of Dragon Quest II.

The trailer for Dragon Quest Builders 2 revealed that those who pre-order the game will receive the Stackable Slime recipe DLC for free on day one, as well as a set of Sigil Block recipes that let the player decore their home with symbols of the sun, stats, moon, water, and soul. It was also revealed that Dragon Quest Builders 2 would receive a playable demo on June 27 for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. Dragon Quest Builders 2 also has a Season Pass, which will give the player access to three different paid DLC packs that will be released after launch. The three DLC packs include the Hotto Steppe Pack, which includes items & recipes from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, the Aquarium Pack, which adds a fishing rod item and a new island where fish can be caught and displayed, and the Modernist Pack, which adds modern clothing and items. The players with a save file from the original Dragon Quest Builders will also receive the hero's outfit from the first game, as well as the Dragonlord's Throne recipe.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is adding new features to the series, such as online multiplayer modes, the ability to glide through the sky and descend beneath the waves, as well as being able to fast travel across the map. Dragon Quest Builders 2 improves upon the original in almost every way and the ability to play the game with friends means that there is more incentive to stick around and keep building long after the end credits have rolled.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 will be released for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on July 12, 2019. There might also be more Dragon Quest news concerning the Nintendo Switch port of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (and possibly a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character reveal if rumors are to be believed) during Nintendo's upcoming E3 Direct on June 11.
