The Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary livestream revealed several new upcoming titles in the long-running JRPG franchise. While several of the games announced were fairly predictable, there were still a lot of surprises along the way. For those who missed the livestream, here's a recap of all the new Dragon Quest games announced.

The first of the newly announced games was Dragon Quest Keshikeshi (Dragon Quest Erase-Erase), which is so far only confirmed as a mobile release in Japan. It's a 3D puzzle game that involves matching up tiles based on the series' heroes and monsters. Of course, another big title announced during the broadcast is an offline version of Dragon Quest 1o, the MMORPG that has never had a global release. This has been something hinted at years ago, and it's a game many fans have wanted, so hopefully this offline, Chibi-style version of Dragon Quest 10 will come out internationally.

A Dragon Quest 3 Remake had also been previously mentioned by series creator Yuji Horii, and footage was finally revealed during the livestream. The remake is in "HD 2D," meaning it looks more akin to Octopath Traveler in terms of art design. It's a somewhat risky move, but given the popularity of Octopath Traveler, it might be a smart (or at least trendy) one.

Dragon Quest 12 & A New Spin-Off Are Revealed

Every New Dragon Quest Game Revealed At The 35th Anniversary Livestream

A Dragon Quest Monsters spin-off title starring DQ11's Erik and Mia was teased back in 2018, and the 35th Anniversary livestream finally showed off some concrete footage. The game has been rebranded as Dragon Quest Treasures, the first of its kind, apparently trading off the monster-recruiting mechanic for treasure hunting. Although the platforms weren't shared yet, it was revealed that DQ Treasures is expected to have a simultaneous, global release.

The presentation ended by showing off a logo for Dragon Quest 12, which appears to be called the Flames of Fate, and will have a more mature theme. The darker music and flames in the logo are a far departure from some of the more triumphant-sounding DQ reveals in the past. Thankfully, Dragon Quest 12 will have a simultaneous, global release as well.

The games revealed still need specific release dates and lack some other concrete info like platforms. Overall, though, it's an exciting time to be a Dragon Quest fan. The 35th Anniversary provided lots of great-looking games for fans to look forward to playing in the near future - and at least a some of them will release at the same time, so international audiences won't have to wait.
