Usually, Dragon Ball fans would be expecting a new chapter about now; however, the next Dragon Ball Super chapter won't be released until the end of October. While this is disappointing news for many fans, they shouldn't worry because Toriyama and Toyotarou are taking their time in preparing and planning the next story arc for the series.

Many fans find the Dragon Ball Super manga to be a bit lackluster and dull as opposed to the original series, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. The original manga series contained some of the most memorable scenes to ever be drawn on the page, while many fans find Dragon Ball Super's manga rather forgettable.

However, the final battle against Majin Buu's true form, Kid Buu was incredibly satisfying as Goku and Vegeta fought off against the foe. This fight helped reinforce the pride of the Saiyans and let Vegeta finally release his obsession with Goku. The final blow of the Spirit Bomb was the perfect way to end the battle with the people of Earth being the ones to defeat this threat.

The Trunks Arc Shocked Fans With A New Super Saiyan

Future Trunks cuts Frieza in half - DBZ manga - Trunks arc.

There are many amazing character debuts in manga, but it's difficult to surpass Future Trunks's. Fans were just introduced to the concept of the Super Saiyan in the Frieza Arc as Goku defeated Frieza.

The next arc then has a brand-new character show up out of nowhere and easily kill Frieza as a Super Saiyan. This development was something that made fans' jaws drop, not understanding how or where a character like this could have come from. It was the perfect follow-up of the Frieza Arc and the setup for the next.

The Majin Buu Arc Shows The Fruits Of Goku's Training

Super Saiyan 3 Goku - DBZ manga - Majin Buu arc.

After dying in his battle against Cell, Goku trained for several years in Other World, honing his skills and strength. However, fans don't really see much success in his training at first, that is until he reveals a new technique he learned called Fusion, which is vital to the plot of the Majin Buu Saga.

He also reveals to have a hidden transformation he calls Super Saiyan 3, a form that took an exhaustingly long time to reveal in the anime. This form showed fans Goku at his strongest in Dragon Ball Z, and even he admitted that he could have killed Buu at the time.

The Babidi Arc Sees Goku And Vegeta's Final Battle

Goku fighting Majin Vegeta as Super Saiyan 2s - DBZ manga - Babidi arc.

Goku and Vegeta's rivalry is one of the most popular in manga and anime. However, it's rather one-sided as Goku doesn't view Vegeta much differently than he does most of his friends.

This, of course, is what infuriates Vegeta more about him and why he went as far as to let Babidi possess him. Goku takes these actions seriously but is more than willing to combat Vegeta. This fight was incredible in the manga, as it was in the anime. This arc also gave several other great fights like Gohan vs Dabura, Vegeta vs Pui Pui, and Goku vs Yakon.

The Perfect Cell Arc Has The Villain Win

Vegeta before unleashing his Final Flash at Cell - DBZ - Perfect Cell arc.

This arc sees some of the best action in the series as Vegeta fights off against one of Dragon Ball's best villains, Cell, in his Semi-Perfect and Perfect forms. This fight gave some of Vegeta's most iconic scenes like his "I am Super Vegeta" quote and the debut of his Final Flash technique.

It also gave Trunks an interesting character arc that showed just how different he thought in battle as opposed to Goku and Vegeta. While he always worked diligently to take down his opponent as quickly as possible, this became his downfall as he mistakenly believed that sacrificing speed for power would help him win.

The Vegeta Arc Sees The Death Of Many Heroes

Goku defeats Nappa - DBZ - Vegeta arc.

Death in Dragon Ball seems to lose its weight around the time the Majin Buu Saga rolls around. This wasn't the case in the Vegeta arc, where many characters like Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Tien, and Piccolo all die.

This only makes it more despairing at the time as the Dragon Balls disappear after Piccolo and Kami's deaths. This arc also features some brutal action from Goku, easily defeating Nappa and holding his own against the Prince of Saiyans, Vegeta. The fight gave one of the best energy clashes in Dragon Ball and had a surprising conclusion where Goku spared Vegeta's life because he wanted to be the one to defeat him.

The Namek Arc Shows Vegeta's Bloody Path Of Revenge

Zarbon vs Vegeta - DBZ - Namek arc.

The building of Dragon Ball's universe heavily expands with the Frieza Saga, and its first arc, the Namek arc. This arc sees three different forces trying to obtain the Namekian Dragon Balls--Gohan's group, Frieza's group, and Vegeta.

This arc helped create Vegeta into one of the most popular characters in the franchise as he heavily contrasted with Goku, slaughtering everyone he came across left and right. As fans learned more about Vegeta's story, it made his actions more compelling as he killed characters like Dodoria and Zarbon in one of the goriest scenes in Dragon Ball.

The Fusion Arc Sees Goku And Vegeta Fight As One

Vegito punches Super Buu in the manga - Fusion arc - DBZ.

Fusion has been a concept loved by fans for a long time and the Fusion arc brought forth a new type of fusion by using the potara earrings given to Goku and Vegeta by Old Kai. This arc sees some of the best battles in the franchise, like one of Gohan's best fights in Dragon Ball against Super Buu.

It also sees an epic scene of Gotenks reaching the level of Super Saiyan 3. But what fans enjoy the most is the incredible fusion between Goku and Vegeta called Vegito (or Vegerot in the manga). This character gave a brand-new personality mixed with Goku and Vegeta's, and the same can be said for his unique fighting style.

The Frieza Arc Gives The Most Iconic Scenes In The Series

Super Saiyan Goku manga - Namek - Frieza arc.

Frieza was a terrifying antagonist whose power seemed to be a bottomless pit. While Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin all came back at Frieza time and time again, they were always outmatched by the Emperor's ever-increasing strength.

However, the one that could stand against Frieza was Goku. After Frieza murdered Krillin, Goku ascended to the level of Super Saiyan, giving fans the best transformation in Dragon Ball. The fight was long and exhausting, but in the end, Goku stood victorious. This arc features Dragon Ball Z's most iconic scenes and is what made the series as legendary as it is.

The Cell Games Arc Has The Best Writing And Action

Goku and Gohan's Father-Son Kamehameha - DBZ manga - Cell Games.

It's difficult to follow something like the Frieza Saga, but the Cell Saga managed to surpass it in multiple ways. The Cell Games arc is one of the most impressive arcs in manga and features one of the most intriguing villains in the series.

Cell perfectly embodies and represents the flaws of the characters whose cells he possesses, and this leads to his downfall. His heavy parallels with the protagonists and villains make him the ultimate villain and a perfect set-up for Gohan as the new main character. Gohan shines brightly in this arc as his father fades and passes onto the afterlife and comes out victorious with his father's signature technique.
