While Spider-Man is one of the most capable superheroes in the entire Marvel Universe and Piccolo ranks relatively low on Dragon Ball’s power-house chart when compared to the likes of Goku and Vegeta, Piccolo proves he’s strong enough to absolutely destroy Spider-Man in a fight—a fact that is beautifully shown in a fan-made stop-motion.

Peter Parker became Spider-Man after he was bitten by a radioactive spider and was granted fantastic powers including super strength, speed, wall-crawling, the inherent knowledge necessary to create web fluid, and Spider-Sense. Those abilities empowered him to take on any number of earthbound supervillains as well as cosmic forces of evil including Thanos and The Inheritors. Piccolo is the reincarnation of King Piccolo, one of the first major villains Goku and the Z Fighters ever faced in the pages of Dragon Ball. While his origins lie in villainy, Piccolo quickly became one of Goku’s greatest allies both in terms of loyalty and strength. Even though he doesn’t hold a candle to the god-like power of Goku or Vegeta, he is still the most powerful Namekian in the 6th and 7th universes and is strong enough to go toe-to-toe with a Super Saiyan.

In a video Tweeted by shinohara_kenta that was animated by Misaki Yamanaka and edited by Rio Kasubuchi, the artists shared a stop-motion video of Spider-Man and Piccolo action figures battling it out–though even from the start, the fight seemed pretty one-sided. The fan-art depicts Piccolo grabbing Spider-Man by his head, lifting him from the ground, and decking him in the face with enough force to keep the Wall-crawler down for the count. Not only did the artists deliver a creatively-epic match, but the video goes on to show the animation process behind the making of the video. While Piccolo was shown absolutely decimating Spider-Man, it seems like it was just a friendly sparring session as the artist also shared an image of the two heroes arm-in-arm each holding a bouquet of flowers with a shared message that read, “Thank you for watching!

While the battle was incredibly short and failed to show any of Spider-Man’s fighting ability, it was actually more accurate than Marvel fans will want to admit. Spider-Man has Spider-Sense which alerts him to danger moments before he is impacted, though when something is moving at an incredibly heightened speed, that ability is rendered useless which is proven true every time he takes damage during any one of his battles on Earth. Since Piccolo’s power matches that of a Super Saiyan 1, his movements would be too fast for Spider-Man to comprehend let alone maneuver against. Plus, Piccolo’s sheer strength is easily enough to take out Spider-Man with one punch, which was beautifully shown in this epic short.

Between Piccolo’s immense strength and insane speed, Spider-Man never stood a chance. In fact, Spider-Man should be counting his lucky stars that Piccolo didn’t unleash his Special Beam Cannon which would reduce Spidey to ash faster than Thanos’ Infinity War snap. Aside from the video’s accuracy, this fan-made stop-motion short depicting Dragon Ball’s Piccolo destroying Spider-Man is absolutely stunning.
