In Dragon Ball Z, Krillin has become associated with Senzu Beans by fans. However, he hasn't had nearly as many as they believe he might. The franchise's official social media page officially confirmed how many he has eaten relative to other characters in the series, and his low number will challenge fan perceptions about his strength. On Twitter, Dragon Ball Official shared a character ranking detailing who has eaten the most senzu beans. Unsurprisingly, Yajirobe is at the top, having eaten dozens upon his discovery of them. This resulted in the group of fighters learning that eating too many results in great pain. Goku has eaten eleven, which is fitting considering how many intense fights he has gotten into and how many times he's had to save the world. Surprisingly, Krillin has only eaten three and a half in Dragon Ball, which seems rather low considering how much he is associated with them.Related: Goku Masters Going Super Saiyan Years Earlier in New Dragon Ball Fanart

Krillin's Low Senzu Bean Count Confirms His Incredible Strength

Such a low intake of Senzu beans confirms that Krillin is one of the strongest humans around. While he has died three times in canon and more than that throughout the various timelines, he has not restored his health using the beans very often. He has bounced back on his own, likely taking longer recuperation times than his counterparts. Adding up Vidal and Moro's intake (despite the latter's Dragon Ball Super consumption not being included in this tally), already makes up two beans. This is nearly Krillin's total despite him being a hero who has been a mainstay in the series since its beginnings. While he provides them to his friends readily, he is less likely to be the cause of their hilariously low stock.

Particularly surprising about this statistic is how it fails to line up with Krillin's usual role within the series. When enemies appear, he is usually a distraction who delays them from wreaking mass destruction until Goku and his stronger allies can arrive. The protagonist's arrival usually marks the dramatic real start of each battle. However, Krillin is on Dragon Ball's front line, ready to intercept whatever threat arrives. This is what has resulted in him dying so frequently, but it becomes extra surprising that despite being the first to fall, he will save the Senzu beans for his friends - forcing himself to be the last to recover. This is a major marker of his strength since he is still only human.

Krillin is not a Saiyan or an Android. He is simply a human who has undergone immense training, who is willing to put himself in harm's way for the greater good. He may not be the hero of the series, but his feats, alongside his low Senzu bean consumption in Dragon Ball Z reveals that he is far stronger than fans may have initially believed based on his diminutive appearance. Dragon Ball Z's Krillin is a major key to Goku's success in that he sizes up foes early and buys time for everyone as necessary, while regularly sacrificing his health to do so.
