Goku Battles Hit in New Dragon Ball FighterZ Trailer

A new character trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ introduces Hit. Fans of the anime first met the Legendary Assassin in Dragon Ball Super. In the series, the character has been portrayed as a match for Goku, even in his Super Saiyan Blue form. Since his debut in the Universe 6 Saga, Hit has become a fan-favorite.

Bandai Namco's Dragon Ball FighterZ was first revealed in June of last year. Developed by Arc System Works, FighterZ has gameplay mechanics that will remind players of the early installments of the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise. Players can face off using their favorite characters, including Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta in 3 vs. 3 tag battles. The game was met with much excitement from the fan community who felt that it would offer a fresh take on the anime. Unlike previous video game adaptations of the Dragon Ball series, FighterZ presents players with an entirely new story, and even comes with a new character.

Bandai Namco has released a character trailer for Hit that shows off the assassin's moves as he takes on Super Saiyan Blue Goku. Calm and collected, Hit moves with lightning-fast speed as he pounds his enemy. The trailer indicates that Hit will have the playstyle of a speed-based character. Hit's signature attack is Time Skip, an ability that lets him jump forward in time by a tenth of a second.

In Dragon Ball Super, Hit is a warrior from Universe 6 whose immense power makes him strong enough to easily defeat a weakened Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. Hit was also strong enough to push Goku into using his full power. Hit's Time Skip ability was extremely difficult to counter, but Goku was eventually able to gain an edge. Incorporating this power into FighterZ could prove interesting from a gameplay perspective.

So far, Hit and Goku Black are the only two characters that debuted in Dragon Ball Super to be playable in FighterZ. Goku Black's trailer was revealed earlier this week. Though most characters in the game come from Dragon Ball Z - with an emphasis on the Cell Saga - FighterZ has utilized a number of newer characters, such as Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, Super Saiyan Blue Goku, and Beerus. Fans are hoping that other new characters, like the female Super Saiyan, Caulifla, and Freiza's Universe 6 counterpart, Frost, will also join the game's roster.
