A new trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ previews Android 21, an original character created for the game's story mode. Based on what we already know, Android 21 will be the main villain of FighterZ. The new female character is unique to the franchise in that she appears to be a mix of android and Majin, and possibly more.

During the summer, Bandai Namco announced Dragon Ball FighterZ, a 2.5D fighting game modeled after the early installments of the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise. Developed by Arc Systems Works, FighterZ utilizes a 3 vs. 3 tag battle system which allows players to assemble teams of their favorite heroes and villains from Dragon Ball Z. New transformations like Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta and Goku are also present in the game, along with Dragon Ball Super characters Beerus, Hit, and Goku Black.

Bandai Namco has released a character trailer for Android 21, the second female character on the game's roster, the other being Android 18. Android 21 is shown transforming from a brown-haired girl with glasses and a science coat into a Majin, a powerful pink-skinned alien. In her Majin form, we get to see Android 21 unleashing a destructive combo on her opponent, Android 16. At the end of the video, she uses a transmutation beam to transform Android 16 into a fruity snack, similar to the way Majin Buu would turn his enemies into candy.

As both a Majin and an android, the character is a combination of two key races in Dragon Ball Z. However, Android 21's fighting style and appearance indicates that she also has something in common with Frieza, one of the anime's biggest villains. Like Frieza, Android 21 uses her tail as a weapon. Majin are not known for possessing tails, which suggests that Android 21 attained this form by absorbing her enemies.

In November, Bandai Namco released a story trailer that gave us a taste of what to expect from the new villain. Somehow, she is responsible for all the heroes simultaneously falling unconscious while an army of clones mysteriously appears. We learned from the trailer that Androids 21 and 16 hold "the key to the story". Android 21's dialogue revealed that she plans to devour the world's most powerful heroes, and that it will take all of them to stop her.
