A launch trailer is here for the much-anticipated 2.5D fighting video game Dragon Ball FighterZ. The game launches this Friday and allows players to take part in an all-new story (created specifically for the game) based around the villainous Android 21.

Announced in June and developed by Arc System Works, Bandai Namco's Dragon Ball FighterZ  utilizes a 3 vs. 3 tag system that may remind players of the early installments of the popular Marvel vs. Capcom franchise. FighterZ's gameplay mechanics lets players call in "Assists" from their team members, which helps to set up powerful combos. Players can also use an auto-combo system which involves players pressing a button to unleash a pre-set combo. Each character is designed to have their own unique playstyle and moveset.

Bandai Namco's action-packed launch trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ previews intense battles between many of the anime's most popular characters and shows off some of their strongest attacks. Fans watch as Yamcha takes on Tien, Gohan and Goten team-up to launch a Kamehameha, and Super Saiyan 2 Gohan has a dramatic clash with Cell at the Cell Games. We also get to see the game's main villain, Android 21 transform into her Majin form. Unlike the previously revealed character trailers, the launch trailer lets fans hear the English dubbed version of the game. The trailer includes excerpts from many of the game's most positive reviews.

FighterZ features a roster of 24 playable characters. Only one, Android 21, is original to the game. Most of the characters are known to longtime fans of the anime, though a few are recent additions to the Dragon Ball world. Beerus, introduced in Battle of the Gods, is arguably the game's strongest fighter as Universe 7's God of Destruction. Two characters who debuted in Dragon Ball Super, Goku Black and Hit, are also playable, along with the Super Saiyan Blue forms for Vegeta and Goku.

At the beginning of FighterZ, heroes all over Earth have fallen unconscious while an army of clones have emerged. The mysterious Android 21 and Android 16 "hold the key to the story." Broken up into three arcs, the story mode will involve the player trying to unite the heroes to stop Android 21's evil plan. Players will move the character icons across a map to advance through the story.

Based on early reviews, Dragon Ball FighterZ is expected to be a hit with gamers and fans of the anime.
