August was quite the month for Dragon Ball with Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero being released in U.S theaters on August 19th and the franchise collaborating with Fortnite on August 16th. Needless to say that Dragon Ball fans were feeling great and are still enjoying the new film and the new additions to Fortnite.

While the main protagonists for Super Hero were Piccolo and Gohan, Goku and Vegeta still remain the faces of the franchise and continue to lead the cast in the Dragon Ball Super manga. However, just because they're the main characters and some of the strongest characters doesn't mean they possess the most potential.

Majin Buu

Majin Buu was the last major threat the main characters faced off against in Dragon Ball Z and since then has been an ally. Due to his laziness, however, he never really goes far with his strength.

However, in preparation for the Tournament of Power, Majin Buu had trained intensely, losing a ton of weight and gaining far more power. Even though he had trained briefly, his strength had come far, which isn't surprising given how strong he was normally. If he put his mind to it and had the mentality of a fighter, Buu could be stronger than even Goku and Vegeta.

Android 17

Android 17 in Dragon Ball Z

Despite Goku training with Whis and gaining the ability of god ki, rising far above what he was previously capable of, Android 17 was still able to match Goku's Super Saiyan Blue strength. In fact, 17 was the most valuable member of Team Universe 7 in the Tournament of Power, displaying an incredible amount of strength and stamina.

With androids already being dangerous with their unlimited energy, it was surprising for fans to see how strong they could get when they trained. Even without any god ki, 17 was stronger than Goku and could surpass him if he put his mind to it.

Broly

Broly powered up in Dragon Ball.

Broly did nothing more than live for several decades and was already able to match and surpass both Goku and Vegeta in strength. While part of his increase in power is thanks to the planet he grew up on being full of dangerous and powerful enemies, he was naturally gifted with extraordinary power.

With Broly continually getting stronger in every fight he's in and rising higher and higher, it's doubtless that he possesses more potential than Goku and Vegeta. Now that he too is training with Whis on Beerus's planet, it may be impossible for even Goku and Vegeta to catch up with him before too long.

Trunks

Trunks from Dragon Ball Super.

While one of Dragon Ball Z's best characters, Future Trunks displayed powers on par with Goku and Vegeta, it's doubtless that Trunks has even more potential than his future counterpart. From a young age, he had been trained by Vegeta, gaining far more power than Gohan had at his age.

Being a hybrid Saiyan, he is already guaranteed to have greater strength than an average Saiyan and more potential than any normal Saiyan. While Dragon Ball Super has put him and Goten into the background, there's no question that he could one day be one of the strongest fighters in the future.

Gohan

Gohan is constantly referenced as the warrior with the most potential receiving comments from both Goku and Vegeta. Piccolo even states in Super Hero that Gohan would easily be stronger than Goku and Vegeta if he actually put his mind to training.

And it seemed at last, for the time being, that Gohan had surpassed Goku and Vegeta again thanks to unlocking his new Beast form, becoming one of the strongest characters in Super Hero. On and off in the series Gohan has been stronger than Goku and Vegeta, proving the claims of his potential.

Goten

Goten jumping happily in Dragon Ball Super.

While Goten's potential is never really touched upon in the series, there's no question that he likely has even more than Gohan. Goten was only slightly weaker than Trunks, despite the latter having been trained by Vegeta for most of his life.

Goten himself had only received a bit of training from Chi Chi. So with this in mind, and seeing how strong he had gotten from simply being, Goten easily has one of the highest potentials in the series, surpassing even Gohan and Trunks.

Bulla

It's difficult to say whether Bulla will even be a fighter like the other hybrid Saiyans, but she should have as much potential as Trunks, if not more.

Due to Vegeta having god ki when she was born, many fans seem to believe that she is gifted with a portion of that ki. If this is true, then Bulla will automatically have the greatest potential out of any hybrid Saiyan in the series. Though whether she becomes a fighter is still unknown.

Uub

Uub enraged in his battle against Goku in Dragon Ball Z.

One thing that needs to happen in Dragon Ball Super before it ends is for Uub to join the others and develop his own character arc. Uub's potential seemed far more impressive in the past before Dragon Ball Super existed.

He was born with the strength of Majin Buu as his reincarnation. But possessing such power at the young age of 10 was impressive alone. Uub doubtlessly will be one of the strongest fighters around. With the strength that he begins with and Goku to guide his training, he surely will have the potential to surpass both Goku and Vegeta.

Frieza

Frieza Black in the Dragon Ball Super manga.

One of Dragon Ball's best villains, Frieza showcased that after a few short months of training, he was already on the level of the gods. Now, after training for 10 years within a Hyperbolic Time Chamber he was able to effortlessly defeat Goku and Vegeta with a single hit.

And this was all while they were in their strongest forms of Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, respectively. Frieza is already proving to fans that he has some of the greatest potential in the series, and it seems to many that he is vying for a far bigger role in the universe. Perhaps the god of destruction or the Omni King himself.

Cell

Perfect Cell Powering Up Dragon Ball Z

It's really no question as to who has the most potential in the Dragon Ball franchise, and that's without a doubt Cell. Cell already possesses the cells of Frieza, meaning he has the same potential that Frieza does. He also has King Cold's cells and all the Saiyans.

Without a doubt, if Cell had desired to, he could easily have become the most powerful being in the universe. The cell of course, never trained, just like Frieza. He never would have wanted to either due to his faith in his own strength and perfection. If he trained, that would be admitting to himself that he wasn't perfect.
