Drag Race Espana, a Spanish adaptation of RuPaul's Drag Race, has been renewed for season 2, and World of Wonder has finally unveiled the new set of queens who will serve as the competitors this season. The new season, set to premiere on March 27 on ATRESplayer Premium in Spain and WOW Presents Plus, will see the return of Supremme de Luxe as its host. De Luxe wears a second hat on the show and serves as a judge. Alongside De Luxe are Ana Locking, Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, who will also make a return to the show as judges; information on guest judges has not yet been released. This new adaptation is the sixth international version of the Drag Race franchise, and the first season has gained the new series national and international fans.

The first season of the show was jam-packed with good drama and an expected fierceness, which left the show with astounding reviews from fans. The season saw two self-eliminations from Inti, an Indigenous Bolivian Queen, and Dovima Nurmi, a drag performer and actor. For Inti, her departure came shortly after criticism from the judges made her feel as though she was going to be placed in the bottom two. To exit the show, the queen removed her makeup and eventually took her exit. Nurmi, who was also fighting to keep her spot on the show against Sagitarria, basically gave up when she did not compete for the remaining spot. At the end of the first season, Carmen Farala took home the grand prize of the first season of this Drag Race spin-off, which included a €30,000 cash prize, a year's worth of Krash Kosmetics and a Samsung sponsored feature on the cover of a magazine.

Drag Race Espana season 2 will feature 12 drag queens including Ariel Rec, Diamente Merybrown, Drag Sethlas, Estrella Xtravaganza, Jota Carajota, Jurji Der Klee, Marina, Marisa Prisa, Onyx, Samantha Ballentines, Sharonne and Venedita Von Dash. The queens all come with their characteristics, talents and reasons for wanting to win the show. Ariel Rec introduced herself as the bigger sister of Killer Queen, who was a runner-up to Carmen Farala in the first season. In the video, Rec said, "I'm here to get the crown that they snatched from my sister. I've got to bring it home." According to Female First, Rec "introduced" Spain to the Drag Race franchise. The queen is a known activist for drag culture, and her drag lifestyle is a reference point for the younger generation as this was something she did not have when she was younger.  Samantha Ballentines has also joined the show in hopes to claim the crown in honor of her drag daughter, The Macarena, who was the first to be eliminated in the first season of the series. Meet the queens in an intro video, courtesy of WOWPresents, below:

Drag Sethlas is coming to the show as a well-established queen, as she won the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Drag Queen Gala twice, once in 2017 and 2020. Sethlas described her drag as controversial, and this description is true to her lifestyle as she is also known for being criticized by the Christian Lawyers Association for using religious symbols in her performance. The queen's introduction video shows her as a diva, and there is no doubt that she will be going hard after the crown on the Drag Race spin-off. Sharonne is another one of the queens who has already made a name for herself before the show. She has been doing drag for over 20 years, and her popularity can be attributed to her live performances and her TikTok page, where she does celebrity impressions. She launched this page during the quarantine portion of the pandemic to keep herself entertained. Wanting to be Spain's next drag superstar is important for Sharonne because of her life's dedication to being a drag queen, but she also wants to win for her mother, who took a while to comprehend what drag was but is now fully supportive of Sharonne.

The remaining queens have come to the show to make a name for themselves and are hoping to claim the crown for varying personal reasons. With the attitudes and energies of all the new queens, this season is bound to be a success. RuPaul's Drag Race has seen many spin-offs, but this one seems to be a groundbreaker. Each of the Drag Race Espana queens has shown their unique personalities, and time will tell how their energies and egos will work together in the competition. Their strengths and weaknesses will propel them in different stages of the competition, and there is no doubt that they will all go to great lengths to ensure they earn the crown. But only one queen will be declared Spain's next drag superstar.
