Editor’s Note: A lawsuit has been filed against Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which alleges the company has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Activision Blizzard has denied the allegations. Call of Duty: Warzone will soon be replacing the familiar Verdansk with a new Pacific map, and Dr Disrespect recently praised its design - also noting that the location appears to be inspired by PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Warzone has been the Call of Duty franchise's take on the popular battle royale playstyle, while also tying together both Modern Warfare and Black Ops: Cold War.

Anticipation for Dr Disrespect's opinions around the new map can potentially be traced to the game streamer's recent comments about Warzone's developer, Raven Software. In a livestream, Dr Disrespect noted his discontent with Raven's recent Warzone maps, and advocated for Sledgehammer developers to work on the new map instead. The YouTuber previously worked at Sledgehammer and helped design the maps featured in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, so his evaluation seems to stem from previous experience. That being said, it looks like Raven's efforts to make the Pacific map were positively received by Dr Disrespect.

In a livestream following Raven Software's reveal, Dr Disrespect (via Dexerto) explained his excitement for the new map, and noticed that it seemed to have taken inspiration from PUBG. Just a few seconds into the map's trailer, he says "Fully own it, take it to the next level. I'm on board." The streamer has always been vocal about the games he enjoys, and with Warzone, he seemingly held nothing back. He continued to praise the reveal, saying, "Hey, I like this."

Dr Disrespect also noted that the map resembled that of another game. As he continued through the reveal, he added, "Definitely feels like a PUBG map, though." While he did not specify which PUBG map he was specifically referring to, it's likely he was thinking of the similarly tropical-themed PUBG Sanhok map. Whether or not such an assessment is positive is up to interpretation, but it appears Dr Disrespect is generally happy about this new Warzone location.

Based on Dr Disrespect's evaluation, it's possible Warzone might feel a bit like PUBG with the arrival of its new Pacific map. This is by no means a new phenomenon for any battle royale game, seeing as PUBG is considered to be the very title behind the genre itself. Despite its similarities, though, its certainly a good sign that the new map has received Dr Disrespect's stamp of approval.
