Started from the belly, now the whole team here! Doubling Down With the Derricos premieres on the big family fan TLC and it is making viewers see double and triple. With a total of 14 children and four sets of multiples, the Derricos did have many wondering if they’re the result of In Vitro Fertilization. The reality show’s leading lady Karen Derrico shares the secret behind her ever-growing brood.

It’s all about loving your family when it comes to TLC. Having been home to multiple shows about multiples like Jon and Kate Plus 8, OutDaughtered, Sweet Home Sextuplets, etc, TLC has hit a tremendous growth spurt with the Derricos. Comprising of Leon and Karen Derrico and their 11 children, Doubling Down With the Derricos follows their journey towards parenthood, again. The Las Vegas couple prepares to welcome their new triplets but things go wrong and their big little world tumbles over. But the ever-smiling Derricos do not double over but use their expert parenting techniques and power of love to welcome yet another set of carbon copies into the family. When fans first saw the trailer for Doubling Down With the Derricos, many assumed that Karen must’ve conceived them via IVF. The answer apparently is no! The Derricos are a family that literally multiplies.

40-year-old Karen Derrico has revealed that both her and husband Deon come from families of multiple children. The Doubling Down With the Derricos star said, “So on my mother’s side there are four sets of twins. On my father’s side, I have an uncle, a great uncle, that has two sets of triple,” in an interview with Live5News. 49-year-old Deon, who’s a real estate investor, too mentions that his mother had miscarried triplets right before him and that his grandmother’s brother has eleven kids. “Within those eleven children, there are two sets of twins,” adds the super dad from Doubling Down With the Derricos. As of 2020, the family has quintuplets, triplets, and two sets of twins, all within the age range of 1-14.

In the Doubling Down With the Derricos teaser, Karen reveals that she suffered from two miscarriages after her first pregnancy which was surprisingly a single child. “And so, once I became pregnant, the doctor started me on Progesterone to sustain my pregnancy,” she continued by proclaiming that all of the Derrico children were naturally conceived. “Not one round of IVF,” said reality TV’s newest star mother, proudly.

The Derrico couple has also spoken about spending $3,500 per month on groceries and food alone. The laundry requires three to four loads daily, and Leon and Karen had confessed to not getting any type of public assistance care for their family. Considering the fact that they’re a couple of days away from gaining reality TV stardom via Doubling Down With the Derricos, helping hands from all the worlds may well be on their way. The TLC show promises to universally relatable, and it seems like growth is all that the Derrico family can look forward to – in fame, fans, and family!
