TLC has always had a fascination with large families. Their winning formula has hit the bullseye every single time, thanks to shows such as Jon & Kate Plus 8, OutDaughtered, Sweet Home Sextuplets, 7 Little Johnstons, Welcome to Plathville, and Sister Wives. Doubling Down With the Derricos is the latest addition to this network's staple programming. The new reality series focuses on Karen and Deon Derrico, who are raising quintuplets, triplets, and two sets of twins. The show premieres on Tuesday, August 11. TLC is marketing the show as Tuesday nights hitting a growth spurt. Although sleepless nights, sibling squabbles, and floors filled with toe-tripping toys are a nagging feature of parenthood, what happens when a family has 14 kids? The Derricos know everything about family budgeting and more, as they juggle the drama and celebrate life’s hurdles, with all their babies in tow. Karen and Deon, who both come from families filled with multiples, always wanted to have a large family. Little did they know that their idea of “large” would end up becoming larger than life. Doubling Down With the Derricos' premise follows Karen at 24 weeks pregnant, getting ready to birth her triplets after the first naturally-conceived 11 kids. Doubling Down With the Derricos has parents Karen and Deon from Las Vegas lead the pack of 16 in this order - a daughter, a son, twin boys, quintuplets (three girls and two boys), two more twin boys and triplets (the recently born two girls and a boy). The alliteration in the show’s name is a hint that the couple is obsessed with the letter D. At least when it comes to naming their brood. As per an article by InTouch, their names are as follows: Darian (the oldest daughter in the family) and her little brother, Derrick, who came next. After that, twins Dallas and Denver came along, followed by quintuplets Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician, and Daiten. Then, two more boys were born, who are named Diez and Dior. The parents refer to Diez and Dior as “triplins” as a way to honor Carter, their triplet who died not long after being born. The most recent triplets are Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver.

Doubling Down With the Derricos also features Eric Jefferson and his wife Mami Fefe. These two are always around to lend the couple a helping hand. Eric happens to be Deon’s nephew, but the father of 14 considers him his own eldest son. At the very top of this reality TV family’s tree is grandma Marian Derrico, who also plays a large role in looking after the 14 kids.

They bring a fresh voice, perspective, and willingness to share their culture and values. And while their size may be unique, their story is universally relatable," TLC President and General Manager Howard Lee remarked, in reference to the Derrico family. The premiere season will also be accompanied by the original TLCGo series, The Derrico Family: Inside the Episode that dishes out behind the scenes moments about the family. The Derrico Family: Meet the Kids will air exclusively on Facebook, and it will be primarily focused on all the kids who make up #thederricos – from the newborn triplets to the oldest teenager who’s 14. Meanwhile, fans who've watched the trailer seem to be in awe of the Derricos' parenting skills...some are predicting that the show will outnumber another reality TV show, Outdaughtered thanks to its catchy content.
