A new promo for Syfy's Superman prequel series Krypton teases the introduction of Doomsday and shows off Brainiac in full costume for the first time. The trailer also previews more time travel shenanigans following the General Zod reveal in this week's episode.

In the last two episodes of Krypton, the time travel portion of the story has been put on the backburner, allowing the series to focus on the show's political intrigue elements. However, in the final moments of Wednesday's episode, "House of Zod," Colin Salmon's mysterious character was revealed to be the son of Lyta Zod (Georgina Campbell) from the future. Krypton showrunner Cameron Welsh later confirmed that Salmon's character is General Zod, known to fans as one of Superman's greatest enemies.

A promo (above) for upcoming episodes of Krypton gives fans a taste of what's to come for General Zod, while also showing off Brainiac (Blake Ritson) in full costume and teasing the introduction of Doomsday. As one would expect, Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos) is alarmed by Zod's presence. Strange wants to kill him and tells Seg (Cameron Cuffe) that Zod can't be trusted. Zod also comes to blows with his grandmother, Jayna (Ann Ogbomo). Zod claims that the only way to beat Brainiac is with "a weapon that is unkillable: Doomsday". Doomsday's introduction was teased at SDCC.

The promo continues to build upon the storyline that was teased at the end of fourth episode, where the Voice of Rao was infected by Brainiac. The Voice removes his mask, revealing green skin on the back of his head. Brainiac can be heard promising salvation to Kandor while stepping out in all his comic book glory.

It's unclear how the inclusion of three major Superman villains will affect the series going forward. As the promo suggests, it's a good bet that Zod's arrival will divide some of the characters. Even if Zod does intend to stop Brainiac, his actions may not be for the benefit of Seg or anyone else other than the Zod family.

Considering that Doomsday is a monster powerful enough to kill Superman himself, it's possible that Zod will unleash a weapon far more dangerous than the one he's trying to stop. Once Brainiac is defeated, will Zod turn his attention to Seg next? If Seg were to die before the birth of Jor-El, his death could alter Zod's history in a big way. Whatever happens, fans will be interested to see how the arrivals of Zod and Doomsday will shake things up in the weeks to come.
