Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Doomsday Clock #12.

The final issue of Doomsday Clock saw the Justice Society of America restored to the DC Comics universe. While individual members of the classic team have appeared sporadically in various titles, the organization as a whole has been largely absent since the New 52 reboot in 2011.

The plot of Doomsday Clock saw a group of heroes from the Watchmen universe follow Dr. Manhattan into the DC Universe, hoping to convince him to return to their world and save it.  The story built to a final confrontation between Dr. Manhattan and Superman, who had become aware of how Dr. Manhattan had altered the timeline of his world. This caused both the Justice Society of America (JSA) and the Legion of Superheroes to never come into existence. Thankfully, the events of the final chapter of Doomsday Clock restored the timeline, bringing the pre-New 52 JSA into the fight alongside Superman.

The JSA was one of the first superhero teams in comic book history and was the first superhero team published by what would eventually become DC Comics. The current JSA line-up contains four generations of superheroes and several legacies, with many of the team's youngest members being the son, daughter or protege of at least one older superhero. Here's a rundown of Every JSA Member Just Returned To DC's Universe.

She later adopted the codename Stargirl after being presented with the Cosmic Staff by the retiring Starman. The staff allows Courtney the power to fly, generate energy blasts and force-fields and control gravity.

Hawmkan (Carter Hall): Cursed to be reborn across time and space, archaeologist Carter Hall has lived many lives and been a hero in all of them. Armed with unmatched experience in the arts of war and a harness of Nth Metal that allows him the power to fly, he is known in this time as Hawkman.

Atom-Smasher (Albert Rothstein): The godson of founding JSA Member Al "The Atom" Pratt, Albert Rothstein possesses the metahuman power to control his size and density, allowing him to become a super-strong, extra-durable giant.

Mister Terrific (Michael Holt): Describing himself as having "a natural aptitude for having natural aptitudes," Michael Holt is a gold-medal wining Olympic decathlete, a self-made millionaire and holds 14 Ph.Ds in a variety of disciplines. Wildcat (Yolanda Montez): The god-daughter of original Wildcat, Ted Grant, Yolanda Montez was born with cat-like agility and retractable claws as a result of experiments performed upon her pregnant mother by a mad scientist. Originally living an ordinary life as a journalist, she took up the Wildcat mantle after Ted Grant was injured following the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Wildcat (Ted Grant): A former world heavyweight boxing champion and founding member of the JSA, Ted Grant has trained most of the world's most famous fighting vigilantes, including Batman and Black Canary. While originally lacking superpowers, he developed the nine lives of his namesake as a result of the magician Zatara altering a curse that was meant to change him into a cat.

Sandman (Sanderson "Sandy" Hawkins): The sidekick of the original Sandman, Wesley Dodds, Sandy Hawkins first fought crime as a boy-wonder vigilante called Sandy The Golden Boy. Today, he has adopted his mentor's codename and costume, having inherited the prophetic nightmares that warned Dodds of impending crimes.

The Thunderbolt: A reality-altering being from the 5th Dimension, the Thunderbolt manifests in the form of a pink genie made of lightning, who must grant the wishes of anyone who says the magic word "Cei-U" while holding the pen that now acts as his vessel on Earth. He is currently in the service of Jakeem Thunder.

Damage (Grant Emerson): The son of JSA founder Al "The Atom" Pratt, Grant Emerson was born with the metahuman ability to absorb energy and generate an energy field that temporarily increased his strength, durability, speed, and reflexes. He earned the codename Damage because failure to release this energy slowly results in Grant releasing all the energy he's holding in a single explosive blast.

Doctor Midnight (Beth Chapel): The second hero to adopt the Doctor Mid-Nite mantle, Beth Chapel was a medical doctor who was blinded by an oxygen explosion at her hospital during Crisis on Infinite Earths. Rescued by Rick Tyler, he gave her the same formula developed by the original Doctor Mid-Nite, granting her the power to see in total darkness.

The Flash (Jay Garrick): The original Fastest Man Alive, Jay Garrick developed super-speed after an accident in his college chemistry lab. He was the first hero to use the codename of The Flash and one of the founding members of the JSA.

Jakeem Thunder (Jakeem Williams): A street-smart latchkey kid from Keystone City, who acquired the Thunderbolt pen by accident. Jakeem Williams is the spiritual successor to the Thunderbolt's original master, Johnny Thunder.
