The exclusive official Doomlands trailer arrives revealing Roku's first adult animated series set in a bar in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Screen Rant can exclusively debut. The show is set in a barren world and centers on the infamous Danny Doom and aspiring bartender Lhandi as they travel the new world order and sling beers in their mobile pub, The Oasis. The duo will also have to face down ruthless desert gangs, memory-stealing creeps and mean bathroom graffiti, all in an effort to quench the thirst of their fellow apocalypse survivors.

Doomlands hails from creator Josh O'Keefe, who first originated the project as a university film project then later turned it into a crowd-funded pilot and developed it into a full series with Josh Bowen and Look Mom! Productions. The cast for the series is being led by Mark Little as Danny Doom and Kayla Lorette as Lhandi, both of whom are also writers on the title, with O'Keefe serving as co-writer, director and co-showrunner with Lee Porter. After having made the jump from the now-dead Quibi to The Roku Channel, Doomlands is gearing up for its debut on the streaming platform.

The Doomlands trailer offers plenty of interesting insight into Roku's first adult animated series, from its specific animation style to its comedic tone. The show looks to be taking a similar dark comedy approach as fellow hit animated shows Rick and Morty and the lighter jokes of Final Space, making use of its post-apocalypse setting to introduce an odd range of characters still seemingly grounded in relatable qualities. The Doomlands trailer also teases plenty of interesting adventures outside of Danny Doom's mobile pub, including a Thunderdome-like event, keeping true to its evident Mad Max-inspired world.

Doomlands marks an interesting expansion into original content for Roku, which gained attention when it acquired all Quibi's library following the platform's shutdown. Some titles to have lived on with Roku following this acquisition has included RENO 911!, the Bill Burr-starring Immoral Compass and the recently released comedy The Now from the Farrelly Brothers. Only time will tell how Doomlands performs Roku when it premieres on January 28, streaming for free.
