Here's how old each member of the Doom Patrol is. The show features a cast of very unique characters with backstories that make it hard to determine how old each member of the group is and when they were born. Because of their powers, abilities, or robot parts, they have been around for a long time, and it was revealed at the end of season 1, their longevity was exactly why Dr. Niles Caulder gathered them in his mansion. However, the show has given enough information and flashbacks for us to estimate their ages.

Doom Patrol is a TV show about a group of outcasts brought together by Dr. Niles Caulder, a brilliant but secretive man who promised to help them deal with their “conditions.” These unlikely heroes all got their abilities in tragic accidents and now struggle with accepting themselves and managing their powers while being shunned by the rest of the world. Unlike other superhero comic shows, the series deals with the strange, the weird, and the tragic. Original and wacky, Doom Patrol has great references, outlandish situations, and a lot of heart creating one unique DC TV show.

During season 1, the group’s main goal was to find their missing Chief, the nickname for Niles. While looking for him, they discovered a world of weirdness and danger, but also of friendly streets named Danny, beard hunters, and supervillain rats. But the main twist came at the end, when Niles’ captor, Mr. Nobody, revealed the truth about the group’s origins: the accidents that gave them their powers were not accidents at all. Instead, the Doom Patrol was an experiment conducted by Niles, who wanted to find the secret to immortality. Dr. Niles was the true villain after all.

Dr. Niles Caulder

Niles Caulder, the Chief, in Doom Patrol

In 1888, Niles is a young boy living in London. By 1913, he was leading the Bureau of Oddities. Later, in 1927, he discovered his daughter was being displayed as a circus freak. Aware that her powers were incredibly dangerous, Niles set out to become immortal so he could keep her from accidentally unleashing the Candlemaker. He was able to stop aging using a talisman. This would make him at least forty-years-old in 1927 and in season 1. However, in season 2, he gives up his talisman and begins rapidly aging. It’s unclear how old he is now.

Rita Farr

Elasti-Girl walking through a carnival in Doom Patrol

In the 1950s, Rita was a Hollywood star and actress, but she was born in the 1920s, as a flashback reveals a young Rita watching her mother in 1931. This could put her in her mid-thirties when the river accident happened. Due to her abilities, she retains the same appearance although she’s over 90 years old.

Larry Trainor

Negative Man stands in a carnival in Doom Patrol.

In 1946, Larry was in high school. His accident was in 1955. Like Rita, he’s probably stuck in his thirties due to his connection to the negative spirit, despite being alive for over ninety years.

Jane

Doom Patrol Crazy Jane

Jane’s age is tricky to determine as the multiple personalities living in Kay’s mind don’t always share the same memories. But season 2 showed a flashback of a young Kay in 1954. She continued to age normally for a time, but at a certain point, she either stopped aging or is aging very slowly, keeping her current appearance since the late 60s, despite being alive for sixty years.

Vic Stone

doom patrol cyborg

Cyborg is the simplest of the Doom Patrol members to work out. He was born in 1996, and he met Niles at age 6, which would make him twenty-four in 2020.

Cliff Steele

Cliff Steele becomes the Robotman in Doom Patrol

Human Cliff Steele died in 1988, but Niles transferred his body to a robot, so he also doesn’t age. He was born in 1956, making him thirty-two at the time of his death, and over sixty in 2020.

Dorothy

Doom Patrol S2E08 Dad Patrol

Dorothy was born sometime after 1913, but she stayed stuck as an eleven-year-old girl for over a century. Nevertheless, at the end of season 2, it’s confirmed she’s indeed getting older, albeit very, very slowly.
