In Doom Patrol, unique powers have been exhibited by the heroes, thanks to tragic circumstances they all experienced before they were taken in by the Chief. The antagonists aren't lacking either, as some of them have demonstrated abilities that cannot be matched by members of the famed eponymous team.

Since comic book heroes borrow a lot from each other, some of the powers aren't exclusive to the specific patrollers that wield them. A good number are possessed more popular Marvel and DC characters. Nevertheless, the powers still stand out because they are extraordinary. And in addition to the shared powers, there are a few that fans had never seen before too.

Ferrogenesis

Crazy Jane using her Silver Tongue personality in Doom Patrol

Silver Tongue—one of Crazy Jane's many personalities—is literally a wordsmith as she is able to create metallic objects out of words. For example, she once creates a sword out of the word 'Underground."

Among the little-known facts about Doom Patrol members is that Crazy Jane is a series-exclusive character. And her Silver Tongue proves to be an enthralling addition. Her power is definitely one of the best since she doesn't have to carry weapons around. Silver Tongue's Ferrogenesis has proved beneficial during the most crucial of moments, such as when she manages to take down Nazi scientist Heinrich Von Fuchs.

Mégethoskinesis

Crazy Jane becomes twice the size of Cliff while using her Sun Daddy persona in Doom Patrol

The ability to alter sizes by manipulating the tiny spaces between atomic bonds is possessed by Sun Daddy and The Pattersons. For the Pattersons, the size alteration is made possible by the Cult of the Unwritten Book while for Sun Daddy, it's much more natural.

Sun Daddy is a sight to behold, thanks to her having a head that looks like the sun but the ability to increase in size makes her even more awesome. Sun Daddy's Mégethoskinesis is so good that she can become twice the size of Cliff. Though Martha and Todd Patterson possess the same power, they aren't likable because they are villains keen on taking Nurnheim.

Automated Repair

Cyborg standing in front of a set of stairs in Doom Patrol.

Traditionally a member of the Teen Titans in the comics, Victor Stone, aka, Cyborg still fits right in among the patrollers. He has a unique power to boast of too since he can activate the automatic repair feature whenever their cybernetic parts get damaged.

While it's a great power to have, especially for heroes that find themselves in danger all the time and have no time to be on the sidelines, Victor doesn't enjoy using it. It causes him plenty of pain, implying that some errors were made when he was created. The automated repair feature also inconveniences Cyborg since it always sends a signal to his father whenever it's activated, something he doesn't particularly like.

Omniscience

Eric Modern aka Mr. Nobody meets Niles in Doom Patrol

Former Brotherhood of Evil member Eric Morden, aka, Mr. Nobody is Omniscient. As the narrator of the show, he knows everything about everyone. He is also aware of events that are taking place outside his reality, thus being able to break the fourth wall. Most importantly, he knows that he is a character.

Such kind of ability has been witnessed in both Marvel and DC comics where characters have been portrayed as having both links to their world and the world of the writers who created them. As such, fans have gotten to see creators such as Stan Lee and Larry Lieber interact with their Spider-Man. The act of breaking the fourth wall has been commonly seen in Deadpool movies too.

Muscle Mystery

Flex Mentallo flexes his "Muscle Mystery" power in Doom Patrol.

Flex Mentallo is a character most fitness buffs love because can do anything by simply flexing his muscles. For this reason, the Doom Patrol members free him from the Bureau of Normalcy where he has been imprisoned for years.

Among all the power, Flex's "Muscle Mystery" is the one that provides the most comic relief. For example, the laid-back superhero causes everyone around him to have an orgasm by simply flexing his splenius cervicis. What's even better is that he can make anyone fly by flapping his ears. Flex proves that his power is such a cool one to have by not hiding his identity as a hero. He is okay with everyone knowing who he is and what he can do. Unfortunately, that makes him a target.

Reality Warping

Abigail Shapiro as Dorothy Spinner in Doom Patrol Season 2 finale.

A number of individuals on the show have the ability to alter reality as they wish. Eric Morden can turn people into anything he wishes while Dorothy Spinner can bring her imaginary friends into the real world.

For Dorothy, her Reality Warping power is very important to her since it provides her with much-needed friends. Since she is socially awkward, she can always summon them to keep her company. She can also summon some to defend her too, hence she doesn't have to engage in violence. Morden, on the other hand, triggers much laughter with his power. He is seen turning cops into pinatas and creating genital-shaped balloons out of thin air.

Mass Teleportation

Flit explains how her teleportation powers work in Doom Patrol

Most heroes with the ability to teleport can only do it only to themselves but Flit is able to take people with her. This ability is best demonstrated when she moves dozens of beings from the Ant Farm to the Doom Manor.

This power often comes in handy whenever people need to be rescued. In times of danger, the best heroes also focus on addressing the source of the danger instead of evacuation, since they cant be able to move people on time. Flit has the option of simply taking everyone out, leaving any bringer of doom idle.

Non-Aging

The Chief creates Mr. Nobody in Doom Patrol

Mr. Nobdoy is basically overpowered. His cells don't age hence he has looked the same way since his Brotherhood of Evil ways in the 1940s.

This ability is mostly seen in the Marvel characters that have taken the Supersoldier serum, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes as great examples. In the DC comics, the Black Lightning villain known as GraveDigger is also a great example. Remaining the same age for years allows these individuals to have many more adventures and right the wrongs of the past without having to worry about time not being on their side.

Elasticity

Rita Farr stretches her fingers to grab a cup in Doom Patrol.

Former Hollywood actress Rita Farr acquires the power of elasticity when Niles Caulder exposes her to toxic gas. As a result, she is able to stretch any part of her body to reach any place she wishes.

Farr's elasticity has benefited her greatly during fights as she is able to strike without being hit in return. And even though she is not able to fly or move at quick speeds, she can simply capture fleeing targets by simply stretching out her arms. At first, this power doesn't benefit anyone else since Farr starts out as narcissistic but over time, she learns to help others.

Thermokinesis

Celcius shuts Crazy Jane up by freezing her mouth in Doom Patrol

Former Doom Patrol member Aran Desai, aka Celcius, is gifted with both Cryogenesis (the power to manipulate ice) and Pyrokinesis (the power to manipulate fire). She also has a suit to enable her to withstand both forms of temperature.

Celcius is special since most heroes have been known to possess one of the two powers, not both of them. That she can control both fire and ice is not only impressive but also makes her one of the most powerful characters on the show. Unfortunately, she hasn't been able to utiluze the powers much since she is an underused character. One of the things Doom Patrol fans don't know about the comics is that she has a bigger role on the pages where she even has her own team.
