Rainn Wilson fights to stay alive in the trailer for Don’t Tell a Soul. Written and directed by Alex McAulay, in his directorial debut, the film had been scheduled to make its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. But, after the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Don’t Tell a Soul debuted at the Deauville Film Festival this past September.

Now with the movie inching closer to its official release, Saban Films has unveiled the first trailer. In it, audiences follow Wilson as Mr. Hamby, a security guard who finds himself in a life-threatening situation after catching two teenage brothers (played by Fionn Whitehead and Jack Dylan Grazer) trying to steal some money. Despite the fact that Don’t Tell a Soul might seem like a typical cat-and-mouse thriller, the preview includes a few key moments which invite viewers to question who the real antagonist might be. You can check out the trailer below, along with a poster.

Suvari rose to fame in the 1990s with her roles in American Beauty and the American Pie movies. Wilson, best known for portraying Dwight on The Office, was most recently seen in the Amazon Original series Utopia.

The synopsis for Don’t Tell a Soul reads as follows: Two thieving teenage brothers, stealing money to help their sick mom, match wits with a troubled security guard stuck at the bottom of a forgotten well.
