Two weeks after the United States President Donald Trump's Twitch account was temporarily suspended over hateful comments made on stream, his suspension from the platform has been lifted. Trump had been unable to stream on his Twitch channel since the suspension was enacted on June 29.

The reasons for Donald Trump's suspension were two hateful comments he made while both broadcasting live replaying an old broadcast on his channel. During the rebroadcast of Trump's 2015 campaign kickoff, he is quoted stating hateful comments towards immigrants coming to the US from Mexico Central America, and South America. The second cited offense was during a live rally in Tulsa, where Trump made hateful remarks towards the idea of defunding American police forces. A Twitch spokesperson commented on Trump's suspension stating, "Like anyone else, politicians on Twitch must adhere to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We do not make exceptions for political or newsworthy content and will take action on content reported to us that violates our rules."

The Twitter account StreamerBans, a bot who posts when partnered Twitch streamers have been banned or unbanned, originally posted when Donald Trump's Twitch channel had been banned. Two weeks, four minutes, and 38 seconds after his ban was enacted, StreamerBans tweeted that the ban had been lifted. Gaming insider Rod Breslau also tweeted a screenshot from Donald Trump's Twitch channel confirming that he had been unbanned.

While Twitch had announced the specific reasoning for Trump's suspension, the duration of the suspension was never specified. At the time of reporting, Trump's Twitch channel has 123K followers and shows that Trump's last stream was 15 days ago. While Twitch is used primarily to stream video games, Trump is one of many politicians who have created Twitch channels to live stream rallies or important announcements. These politicians stream under the "politics" category.

Trump may have access to his Twitch account now, but it may only be a matter of time before another suspension or maybe even a ban. Trump's political campaign ads have been removed from several platforms such as Facebook. His tweets have been censored and his own subreddit was terminated, all due to what each platform has recognized as hate speech. After the backlash from different social media platforms, Trump continues to uphold the same anti-political correct behavior he is known for on these platforms. Unless President Donald Trump curbs his hateful comments, his Twitch channel could be on the chopping block again soon - potentially permanently next time.
