Donald Glover might be an acclaimed actor and singer, but he likes to keep his professional and private lives separate - here's why. Donald Glover first came on the radar thanks to his role in TV series Community. Glover played Troy Barnes on the Dan Harmon (Rick & Morty) created sitcom and quickly earned a fanbase for his work. Since leaving the show in season 5 Glover has become prolific in movies, TV shows, and music.

On the big screen, he's appeared as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Spider-Man: Homecoming and will voice Simba in the forthcoming remake of The Lion King. In addition to creating and starring in critically lauded TV show Atlanta, his other duties include writing, producing and directing. Glover also performs as rapper Childish Gambino, whose single "This Is America" was instantly acclaimed upon release in 2018.

In pretty much every creative venture he's embarked on, from music to acting to directing, Donald Glover has excelled. Glover is also notable for how little people actually know about his private life. He rarely opens up about himself outside of work in interviews, which of course, just makes interest and speculation more intense. While an actor or performer keeping their private life lowkey used to be something of a given, with the advent of the internet and social media, it's harder for public figures to keep totally out of the limelight.

That hasn't stopped Donald Glover from trying. It's known he has two children with partner Michelle, though it's not known if the two are married or not, despite intense interest from gossip columns. Glover refuses to be drawn on these topics for the simple reason that the less people actually know about him, and the more mysterious he is, the easier it is to surprise. He's able to jump from comedy to drama and from TV to film because there's little in the way of preconceived notions about what he can do. Donald Glover appears to be something of a workaholic too, taking part in multiple projects each year, such as the sudden arrival of Prime Video musical Guava Island with Rihanna (Ocean's 8) in April 2019.

Donald Glover maintains a distant relationship with social media, but the added benefit of his air of mystery is that draws more fans to him. He might occasionally drop a little nugget of information about his personal life which ignites more attention but also allows him to remain more or less out of the spotlight - which is almost certainly the way he prefers it.
