Donald Glover has more projects on the way as he is currently working on writing a movie trilogy. The actor and rapper is currently in the midst of filming the third and fourth seasons of his hit FX surreal dramedy Atlanta, in which he produces, stars, writes, and directs. Having gotten started as a writer for 30 Rock, Glover rose to fame playing Troy Barnes on the cult NBC sitcom Community for five seasons before creating his Emmy Award-winning series Atlanta, which also stars Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz. Glover is also a Grammy Award-winning rapper and singer under the name Childish Gambino and has released many successful albums and singles.

According to a social media post by DiscussingFilm and J o n a t h a n, Glover has revealed that he is currently writing a trilogy of films that he hopes will be finished soon. Glover previously made his own musical film Guava Island, alongside Rihanna, but story details for the new trilogy are still a mystery.

Glover is continuing to be on an upward trajectory with his career in music, television, and film, having recently signed a massive deal with Amazon. Since the success of Atlanta, Glover has starred in a multitude of blockbusters including Spider-Man: Homecoming, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Lion King. His announcement of his next series of projects is sure to excite his fans, who are in wait for Atlanta season 3, which Glover has stated will premiere in early 2022 and will reach the acclaim of The Sopranos. As mentioned above, no other information about the film trilogy Glover is writing is known yet, but it will be exciting to see what the story will be about that will spread across the course of three films.
