It looks like danger and adventure are in store on DuckTales. The upcoming reboot of the Disney animated series has a lot of fans excited. The original series followed the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews Huey, Dewie, and Louie as they protected Scrooge's fortune and even attempted to make him richer. Accompanied by goofy pilot Launchpad McQuack, the family faced constant peril, threatened by everything from evil villains to natural disasters to Launchpad's never-ending ability to crash his plane. The successful series lasted for four seasons and 100 episodes, plus a movie.

As more information is released about the upcoming series, it's clear that some things are changing drastically, while others are remaining the same. The dangerous quests still seem to be a mainstay of the new series. And the catchy original theme song is still included -- all though re-recorded by Felicia Barton. But it would appear that more characters will be going on adventures than just the core five. Mrs. Beakley and her granddaughter Webby are going to be far more involved than they were in the original series. And also joining in the adventure is Donald Duck, who only popped up occasionally in the first series but appears to now be a main character.

Two new clips -- one seen above and one below -- have been released by Disney XD. The first shows Donald in all sorts of perilous situations. While the other demonstrates that he will not be facing the danger alone.

The first clip starts with Webby making a statement which was also heard in the show's trailer: "Donald Duck is one of the most daring adventurers of all time!" And this quote is followed by example after example, with Donald dealing with all sorts of situations. He tries to plug up a dam, is on a boat that catches fire, and even gets knocked out by an ironing board. A narrating voice promises that Donald can handle these various situations -- and especially will when his family is in trouble. Sure enough, clips of Donald losing his temper, and even attacking a classic DuckTales villain -- one of the Beagle Boys -- shows that Donald will risk anything to save his loved ones.

As for the second clip, Donald is clearly not going on these adventures alone. It starts with a montage of the four children -- Webby and the nephews -- having fun in all sorts of situations. But danger, fire, and a sword-wielding librarian show up to spoil the fun. Launchpad even gets, well, launched into the air, and hits the ground so hard he loses his ability to speak English.

Donald Duck was always an adventurous character. The reason he was so absent from the original series was because he joined the Navy. It's great to see him finally getting to show off his heroic skills along with the rest of his family. And to know that even though this version of DuckTales is different in many ways from the original, the adventure, excitement, and even danger will still remain.

DuckTales will premiere on Disney XD with a one hour special titled 'Woo-Oo' on August 12, 2017.
