The first trailer for Dom has been released, coming soon to Amazon Prime. Based on a true story, the crime drama was overseen by Brazilian filmmaker, Breno Silveira, who served as showrunner and directed alongside Vicente Kubrusly. Silveira also crafted the scripts with a writing team including Fabio Mendes, Higia Ikeda, Carolina Neves and Marcelo Vindicatto. The Amazon Original show will be comprised of eight one-hour episodes.

Set against two time periods (1999-2005 and 1969-1986), Dom starred Gabriel Leone as the titular Pedro Dom, an emerging figurehead within a drug empire. The show also starred Flavio Tolezani as Victor Dantas, Pedro's father - who dedicated his life to the war on drugs. Their high-adrenaline, emotional clashes from opposite sides of the law serves as the central conflict highlighted in a new trailer unveiled by Amazon Prime Video. Check it out below:

The official synopsis reads: Dom tells the story of Pedroa handsome boy from Rio de Janeiro’s middle class who is introduced to cocaine in his teen years, eventually becoming an addict which puts him on the path to emerging as the leader of a criminal gang that dominated the tabloids in Rio in the early 2000s. The visceral drama also tells the story of Pedro Dom’s father Victor Dantas, who as a kid in the late 60s, makes a discovery at the bottom of the sea, reports it to the authorities and ends up joining the police intelligence service. The series shows the journey of father and son living opposite lives, often mirroring and complementing each other, while both confront situations which blur the lines between right and wrong.

The rest of Dom's cast was rounded out by Filipe Bragança, Raquel Villar, Isabella Santoni, Ramon Francisco, Digão Ribeiro, Fabio Lago, Julia Konrad, and André Mattos. Scored by Antonio Pinto, Dom was confirmed to premiere via Amazon Prime on June 4, 2021 .
