Available now for around $280 on T-Mobile, the Nord N20 5G is a shockingly capable handset. For less than $300, the N20 delivers an AMOLED display, a capable processor, and a massive battery — all wrapped up in a sleek design. In a world where affordable smartphone options are increasingly more important, the Nord N20 is more than welcome to the Android space.
But no budget phone is perfect, and the OnePlus Nord N20 5G isn't an exception. There are certain things that the Nord N20 simply isn't capable of. The AMOLED screen has fantastic colors and deep blacks, but it runs at a slower 60Hz refresh rate instead of 90 or 120Hz. There's also no wireless charging support, limited secondary cameras, and the promise of just one OS update to Android 12. The Nord N20 gets a lot right, but it also has to make a few compromises to be so cheap.

The Nord N20 5G Fully Supports NFC & Google Pay
NFC on the OnePlus Nord N20 5G works just like it does on any other Android phone — with the main use case being contactless payments. If you're in a store/restaurant/other business that accepts NFC payments, you can place your Nord N20 against the card reader and pay like that. Like other Android phones, the payment app you'll use for NFC on the Nord N20 is Google Pay. Along with enabling NFC payments, the Google Pay app also has exclusive cash back deals, spending insights, and supports sending/receiving money from friends.
While NFC functionality doesn't vary from device to device, just having it on the Nord N20 is fantastic. Similarly-priced phones like the Moto G 5G, Moto G Stylus (2022), and Moto G Power (2022) lack NFC entirely. That caused some concern that the Nord N20 also wouldn't have NFC, but thankfully, that's not the case.
