Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third movie in the planned pentalogy, but does it have an after-credits scene to tease the franchise's next adventure? Fantastic Beasts 3 follows on from its predecessors, with Jude Law's Dumbledore continuing to lead the fight against Grindelwald. The ancient wizard enlists the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a magizoologist and in-universe author of the textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is receiving mixed critical reviews ahead of its U.S. theatrical premiere, despite a lot of critics considering it an improvement over the second film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Mads Mikkelsen takes over the role of Grindelwald the dark wizard from Johnny Depp, facing off against his friend-turned-enemy in Albus Dumbledore. The film leaves off in a way that promises more adventures in the wizarding world, as did its two predecessors.

Despite the film setting up for more entries in the series down the line, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore does not have an after-credits scene. That isn't to say that the credits aren't worth sticking around for, however. One of the shining elements of the Warner Bros. spinoff is the fantastic musical score by James Newton Howard. Harry Potter fans looking for an extra dose of magic are encouraged to stick around through the credits, with Newton Howard's score offering plenty of musical callbacks to John Williams' iconic Harry Potter themes and new compositions alike.

Fantastic Beasts 3 Dumbledore

Given the way Marvel Studios and the MCU have revolutionized the after-credits scene, for better or for worse, virtually every major blockbuster released in theaters now has fans waiting patiently (or impatiently) through the credits to potentially get a glimpse at future releases. Since the MCU began in 2008, after-credits scenes have become a staple of franchise filmmaking regardless of genre. The Harry Potter franchise, however, has never been one for indulging this trend, and that extends to its prequels.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore follows in the footsteps of its many prior films, simply setting up further adventures within the film's runtime, rather than in the credits. Fans are still encouraged to stay until the very end for James Newton Howard's score and to pay tribute to the many individuals who worked on such a massive project, but for now, those curious about the future of the planned five-part Fantastic Beasts series will have to rely on the scenes set up within Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
