'Doctor Who' Season 6 Finale Preview Images & Prequel Video

Doctor Who - The Wedding of River Song

With the Doctor Who season 6 finale, entitled “The Wedding of River Song,” just days away, it’s time to look at what’s to come in the highly anticipated episode, as the Doctor faces his ultimate adventure – death.

Ever since the Doctor Who season 6 premiere, when the death of the Doctor was revealed, there’s been a flurry of questions about what led to this moment. With the majority of those questions being answered throughout the run of this season (though, most answered in last week’s episode), it’s now time to sit back and watch as the big question is asked, and the silence falls.

While much of the plot remains secret, what we do know is that time is stuck, and it has been for as long as anyone can remember. The date? April 22. The time? 5:02pm. All of history is now happening at once: Charles Dickens is on a morning chat show to talk about “A Christmas Carol”, cars are suspended by hot air balloons, dinosaurs are attacking school busses, and Winston Churchill is being hailed as Caesar.

The Doctor doesn’t know if he’s the one that caused this mess of time, or if there’s anything he can do to fix it – but he must try to stop it.  Elsewhere, the impossible astronaut is waiting, and the wedding of River Song must commence (unless the episode title is simply a metaphor).

And of course, “the question” must be asked. What that question will be, one can only guess. But, there will be somewhat of an answer to a question that fans have been wondering about: “the oldest question in the universe.” Whether these two questions are the same, we’ll have to wait and see.

If last week’s episode wasn’t enough to having you waiting in anticipation for Saturday’s finale, the prequel video to “The Wedding of River Song” surely will. You can view the prequel below:

With Stephen Moffat penning the episode, it’s sure to be an amazing adventure – no matter what happens. Since Matt Smith has already signed on for Doctor Who season 7, fans shouldn’t really be worried about the actual fate of the Doctor. But that doesn’t mean you’re not going to be on the edge of your seat.

In case you need a reminder of what’s to come, here’s a copy of the creepy rhyme that’s surrounding the events in this episode:

Tick tock, goes the clock, and what then shall we see?

Tick tock, until the day, that thou shalt marry me

Tick tock, goes the clock and all the years they fly

Tick tock, and all to soon you and I must die

Tick tock, goes the clock, we laughed at fate and mourned her

Tick tock, goes the clock, even for the Doctor

Tick tock, goes the clock, he cradled her and he rocked her

Doctor Who - Prison

Tick tock, goes the clock and what now shall we play?

Tick tock, goes the clock now summer`s gone away

Tick tock, goes the clock all the years they fly

Tick tock, and all to soon your love surely die

Tick tock, goes the clock, he cradled her and he rocked her

Tick tock, goes the clock, till River kills the Doctor

Doctor, brave and good, he turned away from violence

When he understood, the falling of the silence
