Currently set for 2022, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is going to be unlike anything Marvel Studios has ever produced. With the confirmation that Scarlet Witch will be joining Doctor Strange in the mayhem, anything could happen. The horror tone and Sam Raimi in the director's chair also add to the mystery surrounding the movie and the directions it may take audiences in.

What's a Multiverse without some crazy cameos and some shocking locations though? It seems that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is trying to tie together the many Marvel movies and TV shows from over the years, in a similar way to what DC has done. There are so many fantastic characters that would fit in so well with Multiverse Of Madness and some of these could surely turn up in this sequel.

Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider chases a car in Ghost Rider movie.

Nicolas Cage loves to take on quirky and bizarre roles. His portrayal of Johnny Blaze has yet to be replicated, with the MCU even going with Robbie Reyes as their version of the Ghost Rider. Cage's Ghost Rider films are considered to be a bit of a cult classic amongst fans.

With the character fitting into the horror tone so perfectly and since Cage is so recognizable in the role, it would be a lot of fun to bring Blaze into the mix as an unexpected companion for Wanda, Stephen, and Wong.

Blade

Blade.

Mahershala Ali will be taking on the huge task of bringing Blade to the MCU during Marvel's Phase 4. Wesley Snipes will be considered to be the ultimate version of the character for many fans though, as he really helped to redefine the comic book movie genre.

As Doctor Strange continues to explore Marvel's past on the big screen, it should really pay homage to one of the films that allowed superhero horror movies to thrive. Blade would fit in perfectly with the tone that Sam Raimi and producer Kevin Feige are going for.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man Beats Green Goblin - Spider-Man 2002

It's no secret that Sam Raimi already has a great deal of experience with Marvel movies. His take on Spider-Man will always be considered a classic and helped to completely rejuvenate superheroes on the big screen.

Rumors of a Spider-Verse film have been circulating for some time, but with Raimi helming a Multiverse movie, it's really difficult to ignore the fact that he could be bringing back Tobey Maguire as everyone's favorite web-slinger.

Doctor Octopus

Often considered to be one of the best villains of the web-head's trilogy, Alfred Molina's heartbreaking portrayal of Doctor Octopus really took Spider-Man 2 to a brand new level. His casting has already been confirmed for the MCU's third Spidey flick.

Once again, with Raimi in the director's chair for Strange 2, it seems almost obvious that he may want the chance to revisit one of his best on screen characters. What's more, there's actually a narrative in place to take for Octavius; perhaps he didn't die in a sun at all in the finale of Spider-Man 2 and instead a cosmic force teleported him away, much like the Red Skull.

Quicksilver

Evan Peters as Quicksilver

There's already a Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it would be a lot of fun to see Scarlet Witch come face to face to her brother from another reality. WandaVision is supposed to heavily tie into Doctor Strange 2, after all.

Following reports that Evan Peters was cast in an unknown role in the Disney+ series, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to assume that he's reprising his character from FOX's X-Men universe. A battle of the Quicksilvers could prove to be pretty intense.

Howard The Duck

Howard The Duck (1986)

Howard The Duck is another cult classic for all the wrong reasons. Cheesy, almost unwatchable in parts, and yet hugely hilarious, this strange take on the Marvel character has certainly been surpassed by what James Gunn has since done with the role.

Marvel Studios love to poke fun at their past though and this seems like almost too good an opportunity to miss. It'll probably be a blink and you'll miss it cameo, but hopefully, Feige and the creative team know how much comedy potential there is in one final appearance of George Lucas' vision for Howard.

Deadpool

Deadpool waits to fight

Deadpool 3 has had the confirmation that it will be a part of the MCU. That's huge news and is accompanied by the fact that it will still be R-rated! There has to be a way for Deadpool to enter this cinematic universe before the hard jump to his threequel.

The character certainly doesn't need to change that much, but the setting and universe he is in has to. The Multiverse Of Madness, linked to Wade's time-traveling antics, could be the perfect combination of elements needed to finally have the merc with a mouth crossover with the Avengers.

Fantastic Four

Fantastic Four Evans and Alba

Marvel's first family, the Fantastic Four, are moving forward with a movie adaptation in the MCU. Jon Watts is at the helm and it's sure to be a completely different take in comparison to all of the other on-screen portrayals thus far in the team's history.

Fantastic Four already has some history with the MCU. Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan have held roles in both the FF and in Marvel Studios films. The team could make a small appearance, exploring the Multiverse themselves and this could even be the project that Evans is rumored to be negotiating his return over.

The Mutant Underground

The Gifted

The Mutant Underground may be a team of heroes that some audiences are unfamiliar with, but they are the group of secret warriors who sought to defend Mutantkind in The GiftedThe popular show was canceled due to Disney's acquisition of FOX.

The series actually left itself on a cliffhanger though, with Blink returning from her supposed death to bring the team into what looked to be a brand new reality. The Multiverse Of Madness could pick up this plot thread and perhaps introduce Wanda to her sister from a different timeline in Lorna/Polaris.

Legion

David Haller looking on in Legion.

Legion was by far one of the most innovative and thrilling comic book TV shows that has ever been put to screen. With each episode almost surpassing the last, it's incredibly difficult to decide which is the best.

What was clear was Dan Stevens' David Haller was a superb and deeply troubled protagonist. With the show relying heavily on horror elements and its timeline getting rewritten thanks to some reality-bending events, perhaps the popular anti-hero may be able to weave himself into Doctor Strange's next adventure.
