LEGO has revealed a new large-scale Doctor Strange Sanctum Sanctorum set, offering fans the chance to build Stephen Strange's New York residence. Benedict Cumberbatch has played Doctor Stephen Strange since 2016's solo film, appearing in a total of six movies and one television show (the animated What If...?). Most recently, he returned for this May's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Doctor Strange sequel is set to debut on Disney+ on June 22.

Beginning their partnership in 2012 with sets based on The Avengers, LEGO and Marvel have released many sets centered on Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Taking inspiration from the comics, video games, and the ongoing MCU, Marvel has released collectible Minifigure representations of the heroes of Disney+'s Marvel series and released character-themed mech suits for characters such as Black Panther and Wolverine. There are also replicas of MCU vehicles such as Thanos' (Josh Brolin) Sanctuary II flagship and the Guardians of the Galaxy's Benatar, plus life-size replicas of props like Mjolnir. And following Doctor Strange's latest journey through the multiverse, LEGO plans to release a large-scale set inspired by the Sorcerer Supreme.

First revealed at LEGO'S LEGO-CON 2022 virtual event before being listed on the official LEGO Shop, the "Sanctum Sanctorum" will release on August 1, with a price of $249.99. Measuring over 12.5 inches high, 12.5 inches wide, and 10.5 inches deep, the Sanctum Sanctorum is a sizable set. It not only features Strange, Sinister Strange, and Dead Strange (each portrayed by Cumberbatch), Wong (Benedict Wong), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) to recreate moments from Multiverse of Madness, but also features Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), and Ebony Maw (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) to recreate Avengers: Infinity War's opening scenes. Alongside a highly detailed replica of the Sanctum, the set also features moveable portals, flight stands, and smaller nods to the wider MCU such as graffiti of the Ten Rings logo. LEGO previously held competitions surrounding their Daily Bugle set, where fans were asked to design their own Spider-Man covers for a chance to own the gigantic set. Like the recently revealed Sanctum Sanctorum, the Daily Bugle was built upon LEGO's modular building system, allowing both the Bugle and Sanctum to be displayed alongside one another. They can also be arranged with LEGO's own original modular building sets to create large street displays.

LEGO's partnership with Marvel remains strong, with sets inspired by the upcoming sequel Thor: Love and Thunder recently releasing in time for the movie's premiere. The Sanctum Sanctorum is sure to catch both LEGO and Marvel fans' eyes. For longtime LEGO fans, they are bound to be impressed with the technique used to create the model's structure, while Marvel fans may be interested in picking up a set that perfectly captures Doctor Strange's iconic residence. With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness soon set to stream before having a home media release, the Sanctum Sanctorum will likely be a desirable item for dedicated Marvel collectors.
