Doctor Strange's trippy and iconic Avengers: Infinity War scene has been turned into a classic Marvel comic in this new fan art. Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange first joined the MCU in 2016's Doctor Strange, a visually impressive and mind-bending introduction to the mystic arts. Doctor Strange was generally well-received by audiences, and Cumberbatch has since appeared in three additional MCU films. He's set to return for at least two more as well: the still-untitled Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The general consensus surrounding Doctor Strange was that it was a solid origin story for Stephen, if not anything unique. However, it wasn't until 2018's Infinity War that the character became a genuine MVP within the MCU, as he proved to be a vital part of the film's many battle scenes. In between Doctor Strange and Infinity War, Stephen's magical skills improved greatly, and that was plain to see within the latter movie. Doctor Strange's moves created some striking visuals that stuck with audiences long after they left the theater, such as the moment where he created multiple versions of himself.

That particular instance has been recreated as a classic Marvel comic, courtesy of fan artist John Black. Using Doctor Strange's original comic book depiction, Black has visualized the character's many-armed scene in colorful fashion. The piece looks like it could easily fit within the pages of a comic. Check it out down below.

That the fan art looks so good is also a testament to how awesome Doctor Strange's visuals can be. For all of the complaints that Doctor Strange felt too much like every other Marvel origin story, there was plenty of praise for its special effects and trippy visuals that were perfect homages to the images crafted by Steve Ditko. Infinity War's battle scenes upped the ante with those visuals, and hopefully Multiverse of Madness will continue to do so. With a character as powerful as Doctor Strange, the possibilities are endless.

Both Spider-Man 3 and Multiverse of Madness are currently in production. It remains to be seen how big of a role Doctor Strange will have in Spider-Man 3, but it is certain that he'll spend his sequel venturing into the MCU's multiverse. That alone will surely provide plenty of opportunities for trippy moments like the one above, meaning fans have a lot to look forward to. Infinity War was a defining moment for Doctor Strange, and it'll be interesting to see what he does next. Hopefully he'll have enhanced his skillset even more for his next adventure.
