Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, set to hit theatres on May 6, 2022, will feature compositions by Danny Elfman. Given the great anticipation surrounding the film, fans are also excited for the release of its soundtrack, which will hopefully follow suit of its Marvel predecessors.

The trailers released so far depict many traditional superhero tropes of grief, heroism, villainy, and overcoming adversity and corruption. Although the film will likely have an epic score, there are also many notable existing songs that fit the themes established in its trailers.

Enemy - Imagine Dragons

"Tell You You're The Greatest. But Once You Turn, They Hate Us."

"Enemy," tells the story of being surrounded by haters who judge and condemn others for non-conformity. It also comments on the tendency for the world to show fake love to one's face, but then show their true opinions as soon as they turn, statements that resonate with many heroes' arcs.

The Doctor Strange sequel will depict Strange facing the repercussions of his reality-bending actions with Wanda's mistakes in WandaVision also being acknowledged. Given the two heroes' supposed fall from grace, this song encompasses their view of the world's change in attitude towards them.

Supermassive Blackhole - Muse

"How Long Before You Let Me Go?"

Doctor Strange 2 Captain Carter Maria Rambeau Captain Marvel Multiverse

While "Supermassive Blackhole" is synonymous with Twilight's baseball scene for all Twihards, this Muse song aptly encapsulates the dark and dangerous tone established in the trailers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Experimenting with more alternative rock sounds, the Muse track is charged with raw and fervent energy perfect for any superhero film. The rock song's vibrant spark and crooned vocals make it a welcome fit for the upcoming film's epic fight scenes, or even a training montage with any of the new characters likely to appear in Multiverse of Madness.

You Should See Me In A Crown - Billie Eilish

"Watch Me Make 'Em Bow..."

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Evil

A tribute to everyone who has been underestimated, "You Should See Me in a Crown" is the perfect bop for a rise to power and proving everyone wrong. It exhibits the assertive and self-reliant, unabashed attitude required for world domination.

Billie's vocals mixed with the menacing, hypnotic music make this a shoo-in for songs that would fit in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Given the film's potential for overly sinister forces and multiversal fights for dominance, this song would fit either of its protagonists.

Hold On - Chord Overstreet

"Let Me Take Your Hand, I'll Make It Right."

Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange

"Hold On" is a heartbreaking ballad about the untimely and harrowing loss of a loved one. With such high stakes in the Doctor Strange sequel, it seems inevitable that it will feature some sort of loss for one, many, or even all of the featured heroes.

Whether it be Strange losing Christine, Wanda losing her family, or the death of a main character, Chord's devastating song would fit in the background of any of these potential scenes. The lines would especially suit Wanda or Strange, given Chord's lyrics about wanting to make things right and refusing to let go.

I Am Not A Woman, I'm A God - Halsey

"I Am Not A Martyr, I'm A Problem."

Wanda Fights Agatha Becomes Scarlet Witch in WandaVision

Any track from Halsey's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power album could well be Wanda Maximoff's anthem. A commentary on her journey through pregnancy, Halsey exemplifies female empowerment with her album, particularly in the song "I am not a woman, I'm a god."

Given the ambiguity surrounding her role in the film, this track could either perfectly showcase Wanda's villainess side or remind viewers of the Avenger's superior powers. The lyrics to this song would fit Wanda's overpowering abilities and confidence to a tee, especially if the House of M storyline occurs.

Roses Remix - SAINt JHN, Imanbek

"Can't Handle My Behavior When I Turn It On."

America Chavez in Doctor Strange 2

The "Roses" remix gained a lot of appreciation from listeners, who enjoyed its fast, upbeat vibe, making it a quick party favorite. The lyrics offer a form of musical courage, emanating a fun and assertive energy to be consumed and enjoyed.

While the upcoming film presents a more somber tone in the trailer, this track would be a fitting backdrop for young newcomer America Chavez, a comic-book hero but an MCU newbie. Whether it be during her introduction scene or a demonstration of her powers, the song would perfectly demonstrate her youthful energy and charisma.

Seven Devils - Florence + The Machine

"See, I Have To Burn Your Kingdom Down..."

Wanda looking surprised in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer

An epic revenge anthem, "Seven Devils" is an excellent track to mark a villain transformation or takeover. The trailers posit many potential villains, from Sinister Strange to other variants, but this song would fit best over a newly turned Wanda Maximoff.

Her lines about hypocrisy and becoming the enemy, combined with her exploration of the Darkhold and quest to find her sons have many fans musing she will be the Big Bad of the movie. Unapologetic, angry, and powerful, "Seven Devils" captures many of Wanda's traits and would work exceptionally well with a corrupted Scarlet Witch.

All I Want - Kodaline

"If You Loved Me, Why'd You Leave Me?"

Wanda Maximoff confronts her own variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

A haunting song about longing, "All I Want" narrates the desperate yearning to see a loved one again. Whether it be someone who passed away or someone who simply left, this Kodaline track perfectly summarizes the pain and pining behind that loss.

This song fits a few scenarios laid out by the trailers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, such as Strange at Christine's wedding, or Wanda seeing her sons, Billy and Tommy, again. With White Vision's rumored appearance, it would pair especially well with a reminder of Wanda's heartbreak before reuniting with him.

Saturn - Sleeping at Last

"With Shortness Of Breath, You Explained The Infinite. How Rare And Beautiful It Is To Even Exist."

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Illuminati

"Saturn" is a track that has an otherworldly feel to it. The first half of the song offers an uplifting yet sobering instrumental, a good fit for any superhero film. Whether it be a remorseful action, impending doom, or the heroic aftermath, the start of the song would fit seamlessly into the film's soundtrack.

The second half of the song changes the mood slightly with its vocals. Narrowing down on the themes of loss, longing, and hope while musing about the vastness of the universe, the remainder of the song expertly reflects much of what can be expected from this upcoming venture into the multiverse.

Toxic - 2WEI (Official Britney Spears Epic Cover)

"Taste Of A Poison Paradise."

Doctor strange 2 Wanda scarlet witch villain theory debunked

Britney's iconic pop song gets a haunting and monumental makeover in this cover by 2WEI. Slowing the vocals and enhancing the tone with more ethereal, epic music, this version of "Toxic" already seems to be taken straight from a superhero (or supervillain) soundtrack.

Given the darker, horror-like style of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the versatility of the song lyrics and mood, this cover would likely fit effortlessly into many parts of the film. Especially considering the toxicity seeping from the evil elements of the film.
