New footage of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reveals more details about the MCU's multiverse. In less than two weeks, Sam Raimi's film will hit theaters. And as part of Disney's final marketing push for the film, a fresh trailer has debuted during CinemaCon 2022, offering additional information about the movie's central theme: the multiverse.

The concept of the multiverse was previously touched upon in Doctor Strange and Ant-Man. It was also a factor in Avengers: Endgame. But Marvel Studios is delving deeper into it in MCU Phase 4 with projects such as WandaVision, Loki, Marvel's What If...?, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness puts it at the core of its storytelling as the Benedict Cumberbatch-led sequel actually travels through multiple realities. Joining Doctor Strange in the highly anticipated blockbuster are a few familiar MCU faces such as Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Wong (Benedict Wong). Meanwhile, it will introduce a brand new Avenger in America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).

Part of Disney's CinemaCon 2022 panel included a Marvel Studios-centric presentation. MCU architect Kevin Feige debuted brand new footage for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which reveals more information about the movie. The clip shows Sacred Timeline Doctor Strange having a nightmare about fighting a fire monster with America. Later on, the main Doctor Strange and Wong meet America Chavez, who claims that his dreams are events from an alternate universe. Doctor Strange demands that she proves her claims and she does by bringing him to another Doctor Strange body. Elsewhere, Wanda is also having a dream about her perfect family in WandaVision. But she wakes up heartbreakingly alone.

Elsewhere in the clip, Doctor Strange attends Christine Palmer's (Rachel McAdams) wedding. There were references to Thanos' (Josh Brolin) snap and its reversal in Avengers: Endgame. Snippets of this have been included in previous marketing footage for the upcoming sequel. But this is the first time that dialog from the scene has been revealed. The CinemaCon footage also features Wanda and Doctor Strange's conversation in the garden. Apparently, the sorcerer seeks out the Scarlet Witch to ask for her help regarding America's situation. But as hinted by other promo footage for the blockbuster, the whole thing is an illusion created by Wanda to trap Doctor Strange.

Considering what's been revealed in this new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness footage, it seems like both Doctor Strange and Wanda are experiencing dreams that are linked to the multiverse. It's curious how this all started and if they are connected through it. Interestingly, the footage only shows Wanda's kids, and not Vision (Paul Bettany), further deepening the mystery about White Vision's whereabouts after WandaVision.
