April Fools! Did we get you? We hope we got you. So Ralph wasn't on set, but that doesn't mean there isn't a possible future for Quicksilver.

Evan Peters' Ralph Bohner has been spotted on the set of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, suggesting his role in the MCU isn't over after WandaVision. When Evan Peters made his debut as WandaVision's Quicksilver, viewers were delighted. His Quicksilver had been one of the highlights of Fox's X-Men movies, and to many his appearance in Westview indicated Marvel was about to introduce mutants via the Multiverse.

In the end, though, it was all a Bohner joke. WandaVision revealed "Quicksilver" was simply a down-on-his-luck actor named Ralph Bohner who was forced to work alongside sorceress Agatha Harkness, and whose super-speed was the result of an enchantment. "It was always the intention that Evan be fake Pietro," WandaVision creator and showrunner Jac Schaeffer explained, insisting he was never meant to become the MCU's Quicksilver. "That he was not, in fact, the MCU Quicksilver...It was at the service of Agatha's character, because we loved the idea that every time she would complain about her husband, she was actually speaking out loud about the man she was holding hostage. It's just so mean; it's so mean." Reactions were mixed, with the hashtag #SaveQuicksilver trending for a while.

Surprisingly, though, it seems Evan Peters' Ralph Bohner will actually be returning in Doctor Strange 2. The film is currently shooting in London, and photographer Norah Winters has managed to snap photos of Evan Peters in the vicinity, apparently on a lunch break. It's notable he's wearing a similar outfit to the Quicksilver-esque clothes he wore in WandaVision, confirming there is a straight narrative line between the TV series and the Doctor Strange sequel. It had generally been assumed Evan Peters' MCU adventures had come to an end, because Ralph Bohner's story seemed to have come to a natural conclusion. That clearly isn't the case, and naturally, there will be intense speculation over just what role he has in Doctor Strange 2. It's possible the Masters of the Mystic Arts will investigate the events that saw Wanda Maximoff claim her destiny as the Scarlet Witch, and they could well summon Bohner as a witness to give his account. Alternatively, it's also possible the events of WandaVision have permanently changed Ralph Bohner in some way, perhaps tying him to an alternate-earth doppelganger who really does possess super-speed. One of the major themes of WandaVision was deception - the show was packed with red herrings after all - so it would be oddly appropriate for Marvel to twist things around once again.

Doctor Strange 2 certainly has a lot of ground to cover; it's expected to see Stephen Strange finally become the MCU's Sorcerer Supreme, while WandaVision set Wanda Maximoff up for a potentially antagonistic role given a prophecy the Scarlet Witch will destroy the world. Meanwhile, it will also introduce Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a dimension-hopping teenager who could be essential in helping Strange navigate the Multiverse of Madness. Now we have another surprising element, the return of a character whose story had seemed to be over. It will be fascinating to see how Evan Peters' Ralph Bohner figures in Doctor Strange 2.
