A new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness behind-the-scenes photo celebrates Elizabeth Olsen's filming wrap. Set to debut in theaters on March 25, 2022, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be the most anticipated project of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4. Hyped as a horror film, director Sam Raimi’s first Marvel film since Spider-Man 3 (2007) will see the Sorcerer Supreme (Benedict Cumberbatch) dealing with the MCU’s rapidly expanding multiverse.

Doctor Strange’s role in Spider-Man: No Way Home is poised to disturb the multiverse even further. Following Disney+’s WandaVision and Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will build on a post-credits tease and a season 1 cliffhanger, respectively. The film will see Tom Hiddleston return as Loki and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Despite various COVID-19 delays, the U.K production finished principal photography back in April and, according to Benedict Wong, is set to conclude reshoots this month.

Hairstylist Karen Bartek, who also worked on Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame, and WandaVision, recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo from Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness on Instagram. The image features Elizabeth Olsen in one of the film’s makeup trailers and is captioned “Not ‘Strange’ Anymore!! Wrapped again.” Check it out below:

Marvel Studios’ penchant for secrecy has perhaps best served Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While many plot details and set photos have seemingly leaked regarding No Way Home, very little is known about the former (aside from rumors concerning the X-Men and Fantastic Four) — it’s not even clear who the villain will be. WandaVision’s post-credits scene saw Scarlet Witch experimenting with the Book of the Damned/Dark Hold as her children’s voices cried about to her from another universe/realm/void. It’s presumed that Olsen’s character will play a prominent role in the film being that she is just as powerful and reckless (if not more) than the Sorcerer Supreme.

It’s impossible to know what recent reshoots entailed, but it seems Raimi is getting what he needs to put the final touches on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It’ll be interesting to see if anyone else in the cast or crew posts clues concerning production in the coming weeks. The film will likely shape the future of the MCU more than any other. That being said, it's remarkable that Olsen has wrapped filming without a single notable set photo being leaked and only a handful of cast members actually confirmed.
