Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange takes a mind-bending journey across universes in a new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness clip. Cumberbatch reprises the role of Marvel's sorcerer in Sam Raimi's sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange. The actor will star alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Xochitl Gomez, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Rachel McAdams.

After tearing holes in the fabric of reality and opening the world to the multiverse in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Strange is set to take his first steps into the limitless possibilities that the multiverse has to offer. Alongside familiar faces like the Scarlet Witch (Olsen), Wong (Wong), and Mordo (Ejiofor), Strange will also encounter new characters like the dimension-hopping hero America Chavez (Gomez), facing twisted and alternate versions of recognizable Marvel favorites across his journey. Due to her ability to traverse dimensions, Chavez is set to become one of Strange's most powerful allies, and while Strange may assist her when battling monstrous threats, a newly released clip has showcased Chavez's impressive powers that are sure to astonish even the powerful sorcerer himself.

As shared by the Twitter entertainment news account One Take News, Marvel Studios has released a new clip from the upcoming sequel focused on Strange and Chavez. In the short clip, Chavez utilizes her powers to pass through numerous dimensions alongside Strange, much to his distress. The sequence shows Strange and Chavez transforming into fractured pieces and liquid, then reassuming their regular appearances as they pass through the various new, distinct worlds of the multiverse. The two characters then stumble out of one of Chavez's star-shaped portals into a seemingly futuristic, utopian world, where the doctor asks Chavez if she is okay after taking a moment to catch his own breath. Check out the full clip below.

Described as a contrast to Strange by Raimi, America Chavez is Marvel's newest comic character to make her MCU debut, having been created by Joe Casey and Nick Dragotta in 2011. With powers to punch through reality itself, the director stated that her youthfulness and down-to-earth nature made her a foil to Strange's more serious, focused nature, with the doctor not immediately liking her. Despite being a long-awaited character due to her being a member of the Young Avengers in the comics, Chavez's cinematic debut has been met with controversy, as Casey has spoken out against Marvel's poor compensation to comic creators regarding her inclusion.

While Marvel has already teased fans with the possibilities of the Multiverse through Strange variants and Patrick Stewarts' surprising Professor X return, this recently released clip is fans' first glimpse at Chavez's interdimensional travel. Much like Doctor Stange's astral projection journey and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2's intergalactic jumps, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's interdimensional travel takes fans on a surreal journey through its visuals. With the film set to finally debut in theatres on May 6th, 2022, Doctor Strange's latest adventure is set to take fans on a spectacular, mind-bending journey.
