Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Doctor Strange 2

A video from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shows the behind-the-scenes of America Chavez's scenes with Wanda Maximoff. The Doctor Strange sequel is the latest movie in the MCU's Phase 4 and was directed by Sam Raimi. Doctor Strange 2 saw the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, and Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo, but it also introduced Xochitl Gomez as a new character named America Chavez.

America Chavez first appeared in Vengence #1 in 2011 before making her live-action debut in the MCU this year. Marvel gave Chavez similar powers as she had in the comics, most notably the ability to punch star-shaped portals to travel the multiverse. It is revealed early in the film that Wanda had been corrupted by the Darkhold and as a result, was hunting America through the multiverse to steal her powers to reunite with her sons, Billy and Tommy. Ultimately, Doctor Strange and America Chavez are able to stop her, leading to Wanda sacrificing herself to destroy the Darkhold in every universe.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has received mixed reviews, and it spent a significant amount of time developing America Chavez. Doctor Strange 2's ending showed America learning to control her powers before going to Kamar-Taj to study the Mystic Arts. It's unknown what project Gomez will appear in next, but it's likely Marvel already has her future in the MCU mapped out. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may have had its problems, but at least it successfully introduced a new superhero that may play a large role in future storylines.

Now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been out for a while, the cast and crew have more freedom to share their experiences behind-the-scenes of the MCU sequel. Gomez has shared multiple TikToks of herself on set, but this one gives multiple looks at the film in about 20 seconds. Disney+ will likely include behind-the-scenes featurettes when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes to the streaming service. But for the time being, these videos from Gomez are a great way to keep people interested in the sequel.
