Bruce Campbell shares a joke script page from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that ties the movie to Sam Raimi's Evil Dead. Marvel Studios is currently in production on a Doctor Strange sequel led by Benedict Cumberbatch. After the exit of Scott Derrickson, Marvel brought Sam Raimi back to the superhero genre to direct Doctor Strange 2. The inclusion of the former Spider-Man filmmaker has only increased excitement in what the sequel will contain.

Raimi's past with superhero movies is partly driving anticipation for Doctor Strange 2 but so too is his past with horror movies. Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, has described the sequel as the first scary movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Raimi is responsible for creating the Evil Dead franchise, and the original 1981 film became his breakout hit. Campbell got his breakout role as Ash in The Evil Dead, which started a decades-spanning partnership with Raimi. Many are excited to see how Raimi utilizes his horror background with the MCU, and now Campbell, jokes that the two franchises are about to collide.

Campbell used April Fool's Day to "accidentally" share a script page from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The fake scene takes Doctor Strange to the Evil Dead universe as he travels through the multiverse. Strange visits the cabin from The Evil Dead and meets a "disheveled man" with a chainsaw for an arm, clearly meant to be Ash. Read the script page and the conversation between Strange and Ash below:

Even though this is an April Fool's Day joke by Campbell, it would be quite something if it wasn't. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see Strange explore the wonders of other universes, so theoretically that could lead him to other movie franchises. Raimi's ties to Evil Dead could make this possible, even if it only was made through vague references to the franchise. Fans shouldn't expect to see Campbell as Ash - or "Disheveled Man" - in Doctor Strange 2, but it would be quite the joke if Campbell did leak his scene on a day where no one will believe it.

Beyond the fun and humor that comes with Campbell's joke, it could potentially confirm that he will appear in the sequel. He's a regular in Raimi's movies, including cameos in all three of his Spider-Man films. There are even several recent examples of Campbell teasing his involvement in Doctor Strange 2. This could be another fun tease for a cameo that may or may not happen, but it is also the most direct link Campbell has made to the movie. If he is in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it will be fascinating to see who he plays and if there are any Evil Dead connections.
