Warning! Contains spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Xochitl Gomez, star of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessunites with America Chavez's stunt double in a new behind-the-scenes video. The MCU's most recent installment saw Sam Raimi put his own unique, horror-infused stamp on the sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange. Benedict Cumberbatch returned to reprise his role as Doctor Stephen Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts, following the multiversal fallout of last year's Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film saw Elizabeth Olsen return as the Scarlet Witch herself, Wanda Maximoff, and showcased the effects that the Darkhold has had on her since WandaVision's post-credits scene.

Audiences were also introduced to America Chavez, a young superhero with the ability to travel through the multiverse by punching open star-shaped portals. With the Scarlet Witch seeking to capture Chavez and steal her powers to aid her search for her children within the endless bounds of the multiverse, Chavez became a pivotal part of Multiverse of Madness' plot. The final moments of Doctor Strange 2 saw Chavez learn to control her powers, arriving safely back at Kamar-Taj with Wong as the newest sorcerer-in-training.

Over the past few weeks, Gomez has shared a handful of Tik Toks from her time filming Multiverse of Madness, teasing that these are "the first of many," so it's likely audiences could be in for more exciting behind-the-scenes glimpses at the heavily guarded film's production. With regards to Chavez's future within the MCU, Doctor Strange 2 offered a small tease of her earlier years, revealing that she lost her parents after accidentally opening a portal when she was a child. With this likely to be explored further in future films, Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron recently stated that America is "a very significant being in the universe," teasing the importance of her character's presence moving forward.

Gomez's debut in the MCU has certainly been an exciting one, and it's sweet to see the young star having a fun time throughout filming. A number of Multiverse of Madness stars have previously spoken about the lengthy production process that was involved with creating this film, but it seems as though Gomez would have likely been on hand to keep their spirits up. With audiences still reeling from the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, many cannot wait to see what's next for America Chavez as the MCU continues to progress through Phase 4.
