Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes star together in the trailer for the upcoming comedy Do Revenge. Both Hawke and Mendes are known for their work in extremely popular teen-based TV shows. Hawke stars as Robin Buckley in Stranger Things and Mendes as Veronica in Riverdale. However, with those shows soon ending, both performers are at turning points in their careers.

Now, Netflix has dropped the trailer for Hawke and Mendes’ new movie Do Revenge. In it, Hawke and Mendes' characters team up to get payback on those who have wronged them. Mendes plays Drea, a character trying to get back at her crappy, misogynistic ex-boyfriend, Max. Opposite Mendes is Hawke’s Eleanor, who seeks revenge on fellow high school student Carissa Jones, who spread a rumor about her. Check out the trailer below:

Do Revenge looks like a YA spectacle, combining classic high school drama with a quirky revenge plot. Combining Hawke and Mendes, who both come from shows with huge pop culture clout, could be a great way to create a new hit teen film. From the trailer, it looks like Do Revenge could deliver some surprises and a satisfying level of psychotic teenage girls to create a breakout comedy this fall.

First announced in 2020 under the title Strangers, Do Revenge is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who also helmed the critically acclaimed rom-com Someone Great back in 2019. In addition to Hawke and Mendes, Do Revenge stars Sophie Turner, Maia Reficco, and Austin Abrams. Do Revenge will be released for streaming on Netflix on September 16.
