Almost all the superheroes in The Boys exhibited some form of super strength. Amazon's breakout series, which satirized the idea of omnibenevolent superheroes by portraying the superheroes as the show's villains, has featured dozens of superheroes with every imaginable superpower, from flight to mind-reading to head popping. Among the superheroes, The Seven reign supreme as America's most powerful and famous superheroes.

Super-strength was the most common shared ability among superheroes, suggesting that Compound V, which gave superheroes their abilities, contained some element that enhanced an average human's strength, even if super-strength wasn't the superhero's primary superpower. For instance, Homelander exhibited enormous power in every episode, but his main superpowers were his ability for flight and laser vision. Meanwhile, for a superhero like Queen Maeve, super-strength, exceptional endurance, and durability served as her main powers. Even Kimiko, whose main power was arguably her regenerative ability, also exhibited great strength and enhanced combat skills. With a few notable exceptions, all the supes in The Boys had at least enhanced strength.

The Boys Originally Had Another Common Power

The Boys: Stormfront flying in Manhattan

In the comic books, most superheroes also could fly, although this was a rare superpower in the show. In the series, Homelander could fly great distances and heights, even demonstrating the ability to fly alongside jetliners. Stormfront, too, was able to fly via her electrokinetic powers, giving the appearance of traveling on bolts of lightning, but these are the only main superheroes whose powers of flight were confirmed on screen.

One notable semi-exception was Starlight, who harnessed more power than ever before in the battle with Soldier Boy and levitated off the ground, only to collapse to the ground after shooting a blast of light at Soldier Boy. If indeed this was indicative of Starlight's power of flight, it changed how powerful Starlight was versus Homelander. Still, the assertion that Starlight was flying in the show's season 3 finale is tenuous at best; it was certainly more akin to levitation, and there was no indication that Starlight was controlling either her height or direction.

Which Supes DON'T Have Super-Strength In The Boys

The Boys Season 1 The Mesmer Haley Joel Osment

Of the dozens of superheroes who appeared on-screen throughout the series' first three seasons, almost all demonstrated super-strength or, at the very least, enhanced strength. While some heroes' super-strength was merely hinted at, such as The Deep's, some seemed unable to conjure the type of strength that typified other Vought heroes. Mesmer, for instance, possessed the enviable power of mind-reading but seemed to have none of the strength, endurance, or combat abilities of other supes. Even before Butcher had powers from taking Temp V, he easily killed Mesmer, whose only recourse was to beg for his life.

Other minor superheroes either didn't possess super-strength or didn't have to use it, such as Gecko or the TNT Twins, who, despite their ability to produce explosive reactions, never exhibited super-strength, even when it would've been helpful for their survival. However, it's possible, too, that the TNT Twins merely understood that whatever enhanced strength they may have had, it would inevitably pale in comparison to Soldier Boy's strength and powers. While Compound V did grant its users superpowers, The Boys suggested that there was no power, not even the near-ubiquitous super-strength, that served as a standard ability among all superheroes.
