In November of 1928, an animated star was born. Minerva “Minnie” Mouse was created as the girlfriend to Mickey Mouse. Like Mickey, she’s very theatrical and animated while also being super feminine and gentle. As many Disney fans know, Mickey and Minnie were married but never fully lived together, which gave Disneyland the idea to get inside these famous mice’s houses in a self-guided tour.

Nowadays, kids and adults alike can get inside the adorable home of Minnie and see the very place she lays her head, eats her cheese, and sips her tea. Before packing those bags and heading to Disneyland, here are ten adorable things we didn’t know.

It Moved From Disney World To Disneyland

Before Disney lovers start packing their bags for Florida’s Disney World to see Minnie’s charming house, they should be aware that it’s no longer there!

Formerly called Mickey’s ToonTown Fair, the magical land was found in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom from the ‘80s until it closed in 2011. The land where ToonTown was is now Storybook Circus. To see Minnie’s house, visitors will need to go to California’s Disneyland or Tokyo Disneyland.

And You Can Find It In ToonTown

Looking for Minnie’s house? Head on over to ToonTown in California’s Disneyland! Her house isn’t just in a random section of the park, it’s perfectly placed inside Mickey Mouse’s quirky world.

Everything (and we mean everything) is designed as if you’re walking through a cartoon. So it’s not just Minnie’s house you’ll be transported through, it’s an entire universe!

It's Interactive

Minnie’s pink and purple house isn’t a cutesy museum where you can stroll through and not touch, it’s totally interactive. It’s not a shell of a make-believe home. Visitors feel as if they are strolling through a home that’s lived in by Minnie herself.

Kids and adults can see a cake baking in the oven, watch the dishes clean themselves in her magical dishwasher, open cabinets, and lounge on Minnie’s cartoon-like furniture. It’s an incredible world of make-believe come to life. There's even a wishing well that talks back to you in the back yard!

She's Stocked Up On Cheese!

Are you curious about what Minnie Mouse eats? When you enter this mouse’s kitchen, you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you get the chance to open her fridge.

Inside, you’ll find a ton of different cheeses and drinks Minnie likes to chow and sip on. After looking in her fridge, it’s safe to say this mouse knows how to throw a party because she has a cheese board ready for any occasion!

And There's A Recipe For Minnie's Chewy Cheesy Chip Cookies On The Fridge

Cheese and cookies aren’t two things many of us put together but Minnie has her own way of doing things.

On her fridge, tourists can see different pictures of her and Mickey, a sweet note from Mickey, a to-do list, and a "delicious" cookie recipe. And get this, the recipe is real. Countless visitors have saved the recipe and made it themselves to see what kind of cookies Minnie likes to nibble on while sipping her tea. It’s doubtful Disney goers thought they’d be leaving ToonTown with a cheese cookie recipe but the more you know!

Every Book Has A Unique Name

Are you curious about the kinds of books Minnie reads? While strolling through her house, you’ll notice comfy chairs and a sweet table with a cookie tray and tea kettle on it. It seems like Minnie enjoys reading while enjoying the sweet things in life.

When looking around her house, you’ll notice classic books with a cartoon twist to them. She has Little Mouse on the Prarie and A Doll's Mouse

A Subtle Victoria's Secret Shoutout

Speaking of books Minnie likes to read, if you take a seat on her love seat, you’ll notice a magazine lounging on the armrest. It reads "Jessica’s Secret" with a picture of Jessica Rabbit on the front.

It seems like a little out of character for Minnie to be flipping through the pages of a fictional lingerie magazine but it’s comical at the same time.

Her Landscaping Is Precious

It’s not just Minnie’s house that’s adorable and cartoonish, it’s her yard too! Minnie takes care of her home and it’s evident by her landscaping. She has an adorable mailbox, flowers that match the pinks and purples of her house, and if you look at the land behind Minnie’s home (which you can visit by going through the back door), you’ll see trees in the shape of "WDI" for Walt Disney Imagineering. That's quite a view!

It's Smaller Than Mickey's But It's Right Next Door!

Many Mickey and Minnie fans find it comical that these two mice have been married for decades and still don’t live together. Maybe that's the key to a successful mouse marriage? But that’s okay because they live right next door! They each have their own respective space and their houses show their individual personalities. It’s sweet, really.

If you’re on your way to Minnie’s house, you’ll notice it’s smaller in comparison to Mickey’s but the wait is shorter than Mickey’s. One could say Mickey needs more room for him and Pluto. But regardless, visitors have said the line is typically 20-30 minutes to get inside and is a little longer if Minnie is actually at home.

Sometimes You Can Meet Minnie At Her House!

In case you’re hoping to find Minnie at home, you’re in luck! She has set hours where she can greet fans and welcome them personally into her home. You can even take pictures with her in her back yard! Head over to the website before heading over to ToonTown so you can meet Minnie inside her humble abode! It's been said by visitors on Yelp! that you'll have a better chance at catching sweet Minnie in the mornings!
