Early details have emerged regarding Disneyland's Marvel Super Hero land, which will be located inside Disney's California Adventure. Disney's Marvel-themed land is scheduled to open its doors in 2020, which will come one year after Disney Parks unveils their highly-anticipated Star Wars land.

The new Marvel-themed land will join a slew of other themed attractions that have augmented the parks as Disney has acquired more and more intellectual property over the years. Perhaps most prominent is the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge park that promises unmatched levels of immersive entertainment opportunities for fans to enjoy. And last year saw the opening of Pandora: World of Avatar in Walt Disney World and as well as  Toy Story Land in 2018, after rollouts happened in France, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, starting in 2011. After Disney's acquisition of Marvel Entertainment in 2009, it seemed only a matter of time before they found a way to integrate the properties into the theme park family - and they are now finally doing so.

Walt Disney World News Today reports that the Marvel Super Hero land inside Disney's California Adventure - which will be built around the already-existing Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout drop ride, and is set to include an already impressive list of Marvel-themed attractions - will repurpose attractions already standing in A Bug's Land. As announced earlier this year, A Bug's Land is being retooled into Disney Park's first Marvel-themed land (which already has the Stark Industries logo plastered on walls surrounding the area), with It's Tough To Be A Bug theater being reworked to accommodate a Spider-Man ride that, among other things, will give participants their own web-shooters to use. There are also plans for an Ant-Man-themed microbrewery and a Doctor Strange show experience.

As Disneyland and California Adventure attendees know, alcohol is currently only allowed in California Adventure - but that's all going to change when Star Wars Galaxy's Edge becomes the first land inside the flagship Disney park to start selling alcoholic beverages, beginning in 2019. So, it's not too surprising that an Ant-Man-themed microbrewery will open up in the Marvel-themed land, which continues Marvel's adoration for making fun of Ant-Man's size. But all of that is part of Phase One.

As for Phase Two of the land, which is set to open one or two years after Phase One, next to nothing is known about it beyond the fact that it'll reportedly feature a massive Avengers-themed attraction. Located behind the Quinjet that's part of the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, it seems likely it'll be a roller coaster and by all accounts will be huge in scale. It's difficult to overestimate the scope Disney's capable of considering their means and the near universal popularity of the MCU. Regardless of the actual contents of Phase One and Phase Two, both promise to offer yet another sophisticated and immersive experience available to Disney Parks' patrons in the wake of the entertainment giant's acquisition of a wider variety of properties.
