Disneyland announced that a partial reopening of California Adventure would begin in two weeks. This year, the Mouse House shuttered all theme parks indefinitely, attempting to prevent further COVID-19 outbreaks. In July, Disney’s flagship theme park canceled its reopening date after California witnessed a surge in coronavirus cases. Last month, reopening guidelines were issued by Calfornia for amusement parks, which were met with criticisms by those who work at Disneyland. Now it appears patrons may visit a portion of the theme park sooner than expected.

Per THR, California Adventure will allow guests to visit Buena Vista street beginning November 19. Opening at a low capacity to allow for social distancing, California Adventure plans to offer shopping and outdoor dining for patrons who meet health guidelines. These include mask-wearing and temperature checks. However, rides and the rest of California Adventure remain closed.

As it stands, Downtown Disney - which recently unveiled a mural to honor Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman - remains open for shopping and outdoor dining. Reportedly, the partial reopening of California Adventure has allowed Disney to recall more than 200 of the 28,000  employees laid off.

While it remains to be seen what lasting impacts the coronavirus pandemic has created, there’s no doubt Buena Vista street reopening will help Disney bounce back. Of course, Downtown Disney and Buena Street on Californa Adventure are expected to sport Disney’s signature holiday decor. Following guidelines from health officials will create some differences in Disneyland but, more importantly, it will allow guests to enjoy their visit to portions of California Adventure.
