Disney's animated classics contain some of the most popular sets of characters fans love to discuss, debate, and relate to. In particular, devotees of Disney and its villains can identify with them in a multitude of ways: through the zodiac, their MBTI, quizzes, and more. There are many enlightening ways to measure personality traits, motivations, and advantages/disadvantages between a fan and their favorite baddie.

The Enneagram is a system that categorizes people into 9 types that is focused on the emotional dimension of people's / characters' personalities. These classifications illustrate the planes of feelings people operate on: their fears, desires, and more. An especially interesting way to use this test is comparing oneself to a Disney villain.

Type 1 - Judge Claude Frollo

Frollo loooking at Quasimodo with anger and hatred

When type 1's are at their worst, they can be intolerant, judgmental, and go on a crusade to change the world into how they think it ought to be, as well as berating people into being how they think they should be. They have the potential to be dogmatic, fanatical, and self-righteous. 1's believe they know the one and absolute truth, but end up being hypocritical in their actions and deeds.

No other Disney villain quite encompasses this more than Judge Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He puts himself on a self-ordained mission to rid the world of sinners and heathens through religious zealous. Interestingly, in his bid to slay the gypsy girl Esmerelda for her dancing and "witchcraft," he ends up lusting for and wanting her to himself ("choose me or your fire"). He has no tolerance for people he feels are beneath him and zero empathy for those he finds different. A positive attribute to the type of Frollo is that they are strong in their convictions and desire spirituality.

Type 2 - Scar

An unhealthy type 2 manifests itself as someone who is self-inflated/important. They can be manipulative, self-serving, and emotionally blackmail others with guilt and blame for their flaws or surrounding circumstances. They can also feel entitled to whatever they want and become domineering in their pursuits/relationships. Type 2's feel victimized and play the victim when it is inappropriate and untrue.

Disney's timeless film The Lion King shows Scar as a quintessential 2 - he believes that he is a victim of being de-throned because of his nephew's birth. He manipulates and lies to Simba about his father's death to serve himself in becoming king. Once he does take Pride Rock, he domineers the lionesses and thinks he is the most important lion to ever exist and be king. Still, at their best, 2's/Scar possesses self-love and confidence.

Type 3 - The Evil Queen

A type 3's negative traits involve being insecure and image-obsessed, as well as wildly jealous and arrogant. They are contemptible and mean when they feel like they have to compete with others, as they want to be the best. 3's are overly concerned of how they look to those around them and want to always be on top and in charge. They can be narcissistic and go to any extreme necessary to remain superior.

Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Evil Queen captures a type 3 better than any other Disney villain. She is consumed with her image and beauty, and goes to radical lengths to get rid of Snow White so she can remain the "fairest of them all." She hates competing with Snow White in this regard, so she attempts to create grandiose and extreme ways of getting her out of her way. On the flip side, 3's/Evil Queen are confident and ambitious.

Type 4 - Cruella De Vil

A toxic type 4 looks like someone who can be self-absorbed, moody, hypersensitive, and feel like they are different from everyone else, which leads to their arrogance. They can be disdainful and live in a fantasy world, as well as self-indulge to a dangerous degree. 4's resist anyone who might try to help them and sabotage otherwise good, true relationships.

Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians is the best version of this type when she believes she can skin living Dalmatian dogs for her self-indulging fantasy coat with no consequences to the pups she wants to use: her friend Anita's. She is self-absorbed, constantly talking over Anita when she visits (and criticizes/mocks her with disdain) and loses control of her emotions when things unravel. On the contrary, 4's/de Vil are creative and individualistic.

Type 5 - Hades

Type 5's exhibit lofty ideas and fantasies; visions and interpretations instead of facing the real world. They can be unnervingly attached macabre objects and dark, disturbing, supernatural elements. 5's are also guilty of being high-strung and intense, as well as nihilistic, cynical, and antagonistic when something interferes with their plans and designs.

Hercules' Hades is a model for type 5. As ruler of the underworld, of course he would be consumed with otherworldly, morbid things. He is also high-strung concerning his plans to overthrow Zeus for power on Mount Olympus. He relies on the Fates to bring his plan to fruition instead of realizing that Hercules would always win. He is also nihilistic and cynical when it comes to Meg speaking positively about Hercules. A good side to 5's Hades: they are dedicated and pioneering.

Type 6 - Gaston

Type 6's are highly-reactive, sarcastic, and belligerent when confronted with a problem. They discriminate towards people they feel are "outsiders," becoming disparaging and berating. Moreover, 6's are guilty of being defensive, divisive, conspiratorial, and swell anxieties to assuage their own. When they feel someone is against them, they lash out and have a propensity to be volatile and violent.

No one defines a type 6 quite like Beauty and the Beast's Gaston. He mocks and disparages her father and has him framed for being mentally ill, when he is really just an eccentric, interesting inventor. When he feels that Belle has feelings for Beast/Prince Adam, he arouses the crowd with conspiracies about Beast and drives them into a fear-fueled frenzy to overrun the castle and slay him. Gaston screams to Belle that since she isn't with them, she's against them instead. 6's/Gaston can, however, be popular and persevering.

Type 7 - Urusula

Type 7's in the Enneagram represent flamboyant and wise-cracking show-offs. They gesticulate and exaggerate storytelling in their performance. 7's can be self-centered, materialistic, and greedy; pushy and demanding. Moreover, 7's can never have or get enough in life, so they take advantage of others.

The Little Mermaid's sinister sea witch, Ursula, embodies a type 5 when she puts on a flashy, wise-cracking, distracting, and exaggerated show for Ariel in an attempt to steal her voice. As she has mastered the performing arts, she also tricks Prince Eric into thinking she was the one who saved him from certain death at sea; the power she has in the ocean isn't enough for her. These make Ursula selfish, smug, and sneaky. 7's/Ursula, in a positive light, are lively and vivacious.

Type 8 - Dr. Facilier

Type 8's illustrate boastfulness, are forceful, and demand to be boss (and have no qualms creating adversaries out of people), as well as haughty and egocentric. 8's can turn to illegal/criminal activity and become immoral, unethical con-artists and use threats and intimidation.

Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog highlights the 5 type when he boasts about "having friends on the other side" and making grand promises he can't - or doesn't intend - to keep. He bosses around and degrades Lawrence, and he even encourages him to betray Prince Naveen. The Shadow Man engages in con-artist activity and thinks he's smart enough to get away with it. Which makes sense, given that 8's/Facilier think differently and resourceful.

Type 9 - Pain and Panic

Pain and Panic from the Disney movie Hercules.

Type 9's, at their lowest, will go along to get along and do what they can to keep the peace. They sweep things under the rug and bury their heads in the sand. They are "yes men," ineffectual, and rely on wishful thinking to get out of problems.

The first secondary characters on this list, Pain and Panic do whatever Hades says and cover up their mistakes, to their own demise. They try to keep Hades head cool and ineffectual at getting the job done because of their recklessness and fear of Hades. On the other hand, 9's/pain and Panic can be accepting and reassuring.
