Untitled Pixar Animation - March 13th, 2020
Into the following year, now, and Pixar gets the ball rolling in early spring. They’ll be looking to continue the success they inevitably will have enjoyed with Toy Story 4. In all honesty, it’s rare for Pixar to deliver anything too terrible, so while we don’t know any details about this one, we’re still pretty excited.
Untitled Disney Live-Action Movie - April 3rd, 2020
No, we don’t know, but we’re going out on a limb to say this could very well be Jungle Book 2’s slot. Since Jon Favreau’s first Jungle Book came out in April 2016, it seems like the right sort of time scale to expect the sequel. No one yet knows if this Jungle Book 2 will follow the very poor Disney animated version from 2003. Let’s hope not; Favreau did such a good job with The Jungle Book, it would be great to see just as entertaining and innovative a sequel.
Untitled Pixar Animation - June 19th, 2020
Another untitled movie from Pixar, following their usual release date pattern. There are no other sequels in the works that we know of, so we’ll assume this is an original.
Untitled Indiana Jones - July 10th, 2020
It’s still a long way off, but we’re excited for this nonetheless. Harrison Ford will once again return as the titular explorer, with Steven Spielberg set to direct. George Lucas is on board as executive producer, since Spielberg said to make an Indiana Jones movie without Lucas would be insane. John Williams once again returns to compose the score. This will be the fifth Indiana Jones movie and a continuation of the events we saw in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, back in 2008.
Gigantic- November 2020
Gigantic is based on ‘Jack and the Beanstalk,’ and early concept art looked pretty intriguing. It’s a mystery why this movie has been moved from March 2018, to July 2018, and then all the way back to November 2020, but it’s still one to look out for. Disney can do fairytales well; take a look at Tangled for an example of a classic being adapted and made into something great. ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ is a great kids story, hopefully Disney can do it justice on the big screen.
Untitled Disney Live Action Movie - March 2021
Untitled Pixar Animation - June 2021
Untitled Disney Animation - November 2021
Finally, Disney has already confirmed three of its release dates in 2021, earmarking the dates so they can then schedule the rest of their releases around it. These dates are so far off that it’s totally impossible to guess what sits here, but as the rest of the slate falls into place, and the previous untitled dates get filled, the movies that fill the 2021 dates will become clear.
