The Walt Disney Company has a great array of famous TV shows to draw inspiration from when designing their Parks. However, most rides at Disneyland and World are based upon films or original properties, rather than some of the great series the company has produced over the years.

Whether they are more recent hits or animated classics from Disney Channel childhoods, there's a great variety of series that could actually make really fun rides and perhaps provide a little bit of nostalgia for those brought up on the series. While ABC and other channels owned by the company also have a great number of shows, there's some heavily Disney influenced series that surprisingly haven't been used.

The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian Baby Yoda

The Mandalorian is an admittedly very recent hit on Disney+ for the company. What's more, there are already rides and attractions based on the galaxy far far away. What's more shocking is that the popular Child, or Baby Yoda as he has become nicknamed, isn't featured in them.

It probably wouldn't be too much to update a ride or attraction with some kind of Child cameo in it. The character is perhaps one of the most popular on TV in recent years and it seems odd that Disney hasn't tried to capitalize on this in some way.

Elena Of Avalor

The family in Elena Of Avalor

Elena Of Avalor has been a very popular show for Disney Junior, so much so that it has inspired the company to include Elena as an official Disney Princess. This is a huge move, especially for a character that hasn't reached a lot of audiences.

While she is sure to continue to thrill more people with the arrival of Disney+, the character should surely be given her own ride, even if it was aimed at younger kids. Many other Disney princesses are featured in some capacity at the parks and Elena should get her own place to shine.

Gargoyles

For years Gargoyles have been heralded as an amazing piece of animation in Disney history. Ahead of its time in many ways, there's even been pitches to adapt this into a live-action film, due to the strength of ideas and the heavy nostalgia for the project.

To fly alongside the Gargoyles would probably be a dream come true for a lot of fans who grew up with the show. It seems a shame that this famous piece of Disney TV history isn't being honored in the correct way, especially considering its potential.

Lizzie McGuire

Lizzie McGuire Disney Channel

With the popular teen show getting a reboot on Disney+ it also seems quite appropriate to bring Lizzie McGuire to Disney Parks. The series is really a nostalgic trip back to the 2000s, complete with quirky animation for all of Lizzie's inner thoughts.

There's certainly a ride of experience that could be made out of that idea, taking guests back to the 2000s and on a quirky adventure amongst the wacky drawings that the show has become so known for. It absolutely makes sense since the series is returning once again.

Recess

The Recess Gang hang out in Disney Channel show

The crew in Recess got into a lot of trouble across the show. They were the best of friends and exhibited a lot of unique personalities and skills. Fans got to know these characters inside out and it was an emotional farewell when it finally came to an end.

But, the series sets up a perfect attraction for guests to experience. There must be some way to rebuild the Recess school and set some kind of adventure within its halls and playground. It would be a great way to introduce a new generation to the classic show.

Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time Captain Hook

Once Upon A Time is an ABC show although it is also set to continue on Disney+. It takes its inspiration from the vast array of Disney animated films, including characters like Snow White and Captain Hook, all in the same world.

It would be interesting to see this world adapted in some way to a ride. The show is incredibly popular and it would be one of the few attractions where these characters cross over with one another; although in a way that still pays homage to the original films.

American Dragon

The American Dragon is a TV show that caught the Disney Channel by storm and became quite popular amongst a particular age group. However, the show has long since been forgotten about, despite the fun premise and great range of characters.

The series could make a comeback on Disney+ although isn't being featured on the streaming service right now. There's a lot of potential to reboot it in full force though and have a dragon based ride that could be one of Disney's next big coasters.

DuckTales

DuckTales is a show that has made a big return and will actually be making its way to Disney Parks. What's surprising is how long this actually took, considering the popularity of the reboot and the nostalgia of the original series.

Donald's three cousins certainly know how to get themselves into trouble and the upcoming ride looks like a wacky and interactive adventure for younger guests to explore. It replaces the Phineas and Ferb experience, which should probably have a coaster of their own.

Hannah Montana

Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment in Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana defined some childhoods. It launched Miley Cyrus into the superstar she is today and catapulted Disney Channel TV shows into what they really could be. It even inspired a film based on this iconic character.

There has to be some kind of ride, perhaps linked to music, about this history-making series. Despite its age its still well known across the world and is likely one of the most popular choices for fans on Disney+.

The Simpsons

The Simpsons Disney

The Simpsons is a relatively recent purchase for the Walt Disney Company. There's also a number of complications when it comes to the rights of the series in regards to theme parks. Universal Studios currently holds the rights for attractions based on the show.

But it's shocking that there hasn't been some kind of leak or at least minor announcement of Disney's intentions in regards to getting the rights for their own parks. The Simpsons has been a big selling point for them with their streaming service. It could do the same with their Parks.
