The Disney Wish’s Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge features a new drink, “Temple Twist,” with its presentation bringing back a controversial Grogu scene from The Mandalorian. Upon Disney’s acquisition of the Star Wars franchise, Grogu, affectionately known as Baby Yoda, has become an overwhelming fan-favorite character. Grogu made his first appearance in The Mandalorian’s season 1 premiere, with Din Djarin (simply known as Mando) taking in the young character as his own before realizing he was a Force-sensitive youngling who had escaped Order 66.

Following “the child”’s debut in 2018’s The Mandalorian season 1, Grogu has become one of the most popular faces of Star Wars’ branding and merchandising, with his appearances on Disney+ TV shows continuing to enhance his appeal. Despite his impressive powers and sad backstory, Grogu is still a naïve child, which means some of his less innocent actions become controversial. As such, it’s no surprise that one of the Disney Wish cruise's signature drinks at the brand new Solo-inspired Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge is styled after a memorable Baby Yoda scene.

Star Wars’ Temple Twist is a non-alcoholic drink that can be enjoyed by families during the day and adults at night, with the Baby Yoda-inspired beverage featuring flavors of apple, mint, pineapple ginger beer, and kiwi. However, the most exciting aspect of the Temple Twist is the garnish, which includes a kiwi sitting on the ice with leaves as ears and “frog eggs” at the mouth of the edible Grogu. Audiences will remember the frog eggs as a reference to The Mandalorian’s season 2 episode “Frog Lady,” in which young Grogu ate the title character’s eggs.

Disney Star Wars Drink Baby Yoda Frog Eggs

The Mandalorian's Baby Yoda eating the Frog Lady’s eggs was primarily met with controversy by viewers after she had explained the importance of her future children, but Lucasfilm – and now the Disney Wish – have doubled down on the humor of Grogu’s hunger for eggs. While The Mandalorian season 2 later clarified that the frog eggs were unfertilized, Star Wars’ beloved Grogu was still subject to unexpected backlash for his diet. The controversial frog eggs scene still wasn’t the only time that Grogu ran into trouble with food, as he would also notably steal blue cookies from a student during class.

Alongside the humorous Grogu Temple Twist drink, the Disney Wish offers a variety of cocktails based on the franchise's characters, locations, and substances at the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge. One such drink is the $5,000 Kaiburr Crystal cocktail, which is served in a smoky capsule that references the Camtono first seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Compared to some of the other specialty Star Wars cocktails aboard the Disney Wish, Grogu’s zero-proof Temple Twist drink offers a fair price of only $7 for The Mandalorian-inspired humorous (and delicious) display.
