For decades, Edna Mode was a super-suit creator for iconic city heroes, like the Parr family. The Incredibles' director and Mode's voice actor recently revealed a prequel called No Capes is in production, meaning Edna will soon be back on screen as the main character in her very own spin-off.

While the protagonists typically bring in the audience, other characters can be show-stealers. Whether they capture attention through their warmth and generosity or their malicious intentions, there are some characters that Disney should further explore and give their own show or movie.

Charlotte LaBouff – The Princess And The Frog

Bubbly, excitable, and flamboyant, Charlotte La Bouff is Tiana's life-long best friend from The Princess and the Frog. Despite her wealth, she encourages her friend without offering her loans or gifting her the building. " She also gave up her dream completely so that her best friend could have true love," TalithaRabboni recalls.

It would be fitting for the heiress who wishes for a Prince Charming to get her own happily ever after. Perhaps Disney could have her grow beyond just that desire and complete her character arc.

Lucius Best, The Incredibles

Frozone blasts ice from his hands in The Incredibles.

Lucius Best is commonly known as Frozone in The Incredibles. His best scene happens at the movie's end; ironically, Honey delivers an iconic line in their conversation: "I am your wife! I am the greatest 'good' you are ever gonna get!"

This Redditor comments, "a 'Mini-Movie' about Frozone …. I'd gladly watch an hour of him arguing with his wife." Though Frozone received parts in the sequel and spinoff media, a prequel could be a charming romantic comedy about Lucius and Honey, who is not a superheroine but becomes aware of her partner's special abilities.

Julieta Madrigal – Encanto

Though Encanto centers around her daughter, the only Madrigal descendant who didn't receive a specific gift, Julieta – "can heal you with a meal" – is relegated to mere snippets in the film. Spoink74 feels her powers are under-explained: "The movie could get really dark with Julieta if they involved her more. There has to be a limit to her healing powers."

A solo film could explore the consequences and boundaries Julieta's abilities have. So far, fans know that different recipes cure different ailments; maybe she tries to heal someone she shouldn't. A film could probe the ethical dilemmas of curing a terminal illness.

Genie – Aladdin

A Redditor wonders about Genie's "life after he got his freedom." In Aladdin, the blue wish maker has his suitcases packed and a Goofy hat. It's safe to assume that the 65,000-year-old spirit is excited to travel the world and its splendor.

Although Genie's sequel may work better as a series of Disney shorts, like Pixar's Cars Toon: Mater's Tall Tales, the Genie could take viewers on cultural expeditions from diverse walks of life across the continents.

Nala – The Lion King

The Lion King ½ depicts Simba's upbringing in the jungle with Timon and Pumba. Scar's dominion in the Pride Lands has led to over-hunting and eventual food shortages so Nala must trek further to help feed her family and the hyenas.

DowntownDubs points out, "I feel like there's a lot to discover with her. The entire time between Simba's disappearance and Mufasa's death, to her finally finding Simba." There is plenty of drama and a destination for another midquel with so much time between the heir's absence.

Cobra Bubbles – Lilo & Stitch

"Agent Bubbles from Lilo & Stitch. That guy must've seen some stuff" during his time as a social worker, says Quilled. The franchise garnered plenty of spinoff content for the aliens, but the Bubbles played a minor role.

Heaven_Upside_Down wants to watch "Cobra during his CIA days working alongside … the Grand Councilwoman, and they develop feelings for each other but are unable to be together." An interspecies romance would be intriguing since Disney rarely goes this route.

Queen Grimhilde – Snow White And The Seven Dwarves

HelloMimi offers, "I personally think that the Wicked Queen from Snow White has the most potential for an interesting backstory type movie." Although fans remember her best as the ugly hag who curses the beautiful maiden, a movie with Queen Grimhilde could focus on her upbringing and insecurities.

Vanity is a human trait that especially women (modern and throughout history) are raised to regard. In excess, narcissists are villanized, but too little attention is also "undesirable." This prequel may be a cautionary tale about societal pressure to be the fairest of all.

LeFou – Beauty And The Beast

In the original animation, LeFou is a mere lackey, but he gets better development in Disney's 2017 Beauty and the Beast. Gaston reveals that he participated in the war, and dirholly mentions that they've "always wanted to know what his life without Gaston was like."

The live-action remake shows that LeFou eventually betrays Gaston, but keen fans notice his misgivings for his friend begin before the castle siege. While tackling toxic friends, Disney may even explain LeFou canon sexuality a little more in-depth.

Ursula – The Little Mermaid

Ursula is a Cecelia (human and octopus hybrid) who is banished from Atlantica, and she plots a coup to rule the Seven Seas. She strikes shady deals with merfolk, but their contracts are oriented to benefit her ambitions; in the world of The Little Mermaid she has the classic traits of a Scorpio.

Cynicbats wants to learn "how exactly did she become an evil mermaid sorceress?" What causes Ursula's banishment, and why does she have such a vendetta against King Triton? A prequel should address those questions.

Claude Frollo – The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

Some of the best protagonists are simultaneously antagonists – like Coriolanus Snow in the upcoming adaptation of The Hunger Games' prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Claude Frollo is a justice minister who attempts to execute a beautiful Romani woman.

"I would totally watch a movie about this guy as a main character while still being the villain," expresses Jonieves. Rather than redeeming the religious zealot, Disney could go a more compelling route by keeping Frollo inhumane but introducing characters who try to show him mercy and grace.
