The many animated faces of Disney are some of the most beloved characters in all of film/TV history. From Mickey and Minnie to our friends in a galaxy far, far, away, the house of mouse has no shortage of beloved characters.
Beautiful princesses, swashbuckling heroes, and comedic sidekicks are par for the course, but behind every glimmer of pixie dust lies a dark shadowy place. Some of Disney's most cherished icons aren't as wholesome and bright as the studio would have fans believe. On the contrary, there have been some dark and dastardly deeds performed right in front of the audiences' eyes.
Max Lying To His Dad To Impress A Girl
It's hard to watch A Goofy Movie the same way after considering this fact, but while it might appear to be a comical road trip with Goofy and Max at the onset, the entire plotline is hinged on Max's lie.
In fact, if one is to think about it, Max makes his dad drive across the country to sneak into a Powerline concert just so he can impress the girl next door. Does that mean Max is technically the villain of the flick?
Tigger’s Frequent Child Endangerment
Tigger and Roo can often be seen bouncing and galavanting through the Hundred Acre Wood. It's charming and adorable, especially given the fact that the pair have a sort of mock-sibling relationship, but Tigger seems to have a knack for finding trouble, and Roo is often thrown in with him.
From being stuck up a tree to glued together with chewing gum, Tigger hasn't always been the best role model for the little guy. Who knew stuffed animals could get into so many messes?
Pooh Launched Piglet Into A Beehive
Tigger isn't the only guilty party living in the Hundred Acre Wood. Pooh himself has gone to rather extreme lengths, especially on his quest for honey. It's all fun and games until somebody gets stung.
How many characters will actually put their friends in danger for food? In Winnie the Pooh, Pooh literally launches Piglet into a beehive like a living projectile, then beats said hive with a stick when Piglet gets in the way of his honey supply. Some friend he turned out to be.
Kuzco Throwing An Old Man Out The Window
To be fair, the old guy did throw off the emperor's groove, but that still doesn't excuse what might have been manslaughter in the best-case-scenario. No time for explanation, no time to defend his case, Kuzco just throws him right out the window.
Granted, the point of the movie is to see Kuzco go from horrible to humble, but this act of near-senior-cide is slightly disturbing. At least that banner was in the way.
Goofy’s Road Rage
For those out there who think Goofy is too simple to do anything sinister, one only has to look at the short film, Motor Mania. Goofy's not exactly the most aggressive character, but this short sees him do a little Jekyll and Hyde when he gets behind the wheel.
He goes from perfectly calm and natural to literally ramming other motorists off the freeway, wreaking havoc on four wheels. This is definitely a type-cast-breaking role for everyone's favorite dopey dog.
When Woody Tried To Kill Buzz
While the final act is nothing like the one seen in the infamous Black Friday Reel, viewers still have to admit that Woody unabashedly tries to get Buzz out of the picture. Jealousy is a powerful motivator, after all.
It's up for debate whether or not Woody meant to knock Buzz out the window, but the record still stands that the cowboy meant his spaceman counterpart physical harm. Malicious endangerment still gets him a spot on the list either way.
Peter Pan Cuts Off Hook's Hand
While the last dirty deed done by Disney was arguably accidental, this one was entirely and intentionally cruel. Captain Hook might be a textbook scenario pirate, but does that mean he deserves literal dismemberment?
It's never seen, but it's a fact that nearly every child knows by the time they're five years old. Cutting off Hook's hand is one thing, but feeding it to a crocodile is absolutely insidious. But what else can be expected from a flying rogue that kidnaps children?
Judy Used Mob Enforcement To Solve A Case
Officer Judy Hopps is the pride of the ZPD, but that golden badge is looking a little tarnished considering what she did to solve her big Nighthowler case, especially since it involved a dip into Zootopia's organized crime world.
It might be a comical Godfather imitation, but Mr. Big and his posse of polar bears have definitely "iced" more than a few mammals in their time. Threatening a perp with violence has to violate some code somewhere, right?
Donald Duck’s Attempted Ax Murder
Donald Duck has never had the mildest of tempers. Fans have seen him get outright destructive when it comes to his tumultuous tantrums, but it's not every day he goes to this level of extreme.
Anger and hunger are two emotions that can make for one deadly cocktail, as Mickey and Goofy learn in Mickey and the Beanstalk. Tired of starving and munching on beans and bread, Donald takes an ax off the wall and goes out to make a burger out of their cow. It's undoubtedly his darkest moment.
The Time Mickey Pulled A Gun On Donald
Not even the master mouse himself is immune from moments caught in a less than flattering light. During Mickey's Symphony Hour, Mickey and the Gang must perform on the radio using an orchestra of broken instruments. Donald, ever the sourpuss, is having none of it.
Just as Donald is putting on his coat and heading out the door, Mickey appears in front of him with a pistol in hand, forcing him to play at gunpoint. Looks like even Mickey has his limits.
